GUESTS: James Freyholtz, Montana Department of Transportation
HEAR THE PUBLIC: None.
PERFORMANCE BOND REMINDERS: None.
OLD BUSINESS:
Lofts at Ashley — 2050 Airport Road near Teal; new 55-unit apartment complex. Public Works and
Fire have completed their review. Fincher met with the contractor yesterday. Updated plans will be
coming in for Parks and Planning regarding the berm. This is passed through Site Review.
RDO Phase 2 (Phase 1 was only interior work) — A new submittal came in for Public Works.
Freyholtz stated that he and others from MDT will be meeting with T. Jentz next week about the new
policies dealing with the pedestrian walkway and sidewalks. This will be on the agenda for next
week.
Fresh Life — 31 — 2nd St E; addition to church. They still need to consolidate the lots. We have had
lots of public comment on the demolition of historical buildings. Tabler has not seen any storm water
submittal or revised plans. This will be on the agenda for next week.
Great Northern Dental — 85 Village Loop; new office. Sorensen has not heard anything as to
whether they are reworking the site or not. Tabler stated they were going to rework the site to satisfy
the soils engineer, but then decided that they didn't want to and had made an offer to the City for the
stormwater to do a release of liability. The City Attorney turned that down, so we are waiting for
them to either have their design engineers sign off on it or have the soils engineer come up with some
recommendation. This will be on the agenda for next week.
Sterling West School —135 Glenwood; new private school. Nothing new has been submitted. They
will be going before the City Manager and City Council to ask for a variance from the design
standards, which are regulations. This will be on the agenda for next week.
PTA (Professional Therapy Associates) — 105 Village Loop and Whitefish Stage Rd; new office.
Public Works has completed their initial review. This project will also need to have the soils certified.
Tabler stated Public Works needs to get their comments out to them. The question about requiring
sidewalk on Whitefish Stage was discussed. T. Jentz thought that the road will be reconstructed
under Urban Standard as some point. We have the bike trail on the other side of the road. This will
be on the agenda for next week.
Husky Street Apartments — 1110 Husky St; new apartments. No update as yet. Tabler met with
their Engineer last week to discuss stormwater. Public Works is waiting for their checklist and design
report. This will be on the agenda for next week.
Casa Mexico — 1600 Hwy 93 S; addition to existing restaurant. Paving for their parking area was
discussed. Comments have gone out to their architect. Haskins sent them an e-mail about their
stormwater. This will be on the agenda for next week.
NEW BUSINESS: None.
PLANNING OFFICE ITEMS:
Bloomstone, Phase 5 — A Preliminary Plat application came in for Bloomstone, as their old Plat had
expired. Their next phase will require them to punch Treeline through.
OTHER REPORTS:
Henning & Keedy — Jackola Engineering will be sending in plans for this law firm to be moving to
an existing building on South Main, just south of the courthouse near 12'' Street. They will need to
talk with MDT regarding the existing exit. Freyholtz believes MDT will be okay with this as it has
been like that for a long time. They will need to talk with Fincher about landscaping. They will be
paving over the existing gravel parking lot. Freyholtz and Sorensen will both send back comments to
Toby McIntosh at Jackola.
Two Mile Drive — T. Jentz met with some people who are interest in putting in a couple hundred
units of apartments on the north side of the road (Jerry Begg's property). They would need to do a
lot of fill as this area is in the flood plain area according to the new flood study. They will probably
be submitting in about three weeks.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:22 a.m.
