A RESOLUTION LIMIT17-TG THE FUMBER OF SAILSONS, BARS OR OTHER PLACES
WIME SPIRTUOUS, VIXUUTJS� MALT OR OTIIFR LIQUORS ARE SOLD AT RETAIL.
BE IT R9SOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL Or, THE CITY OF KALISPELL:
That from and after this date the number of saloons, bars or other
wit'hin the city of yalispell, Montana
places where spirituous, vinuous, malt or,other liquors are sold at
retail be limited to twenty five (25) and the Ci ty Treasuer is hereby
directed to not collect any moneys for City Licenses for Saloons
-In excess of that number, and the City Clerk is also directed to not
issue saloon 1-icenses to exceed twenty f ive in niamber 4t. ar-
It was moved by Alderman Pognlien and Seconded by Aldernan
Bienz that said resolution do pass, The roll call on said notion
was as follows: Alderman Bienzt Buckingham, Dickey2 Jones, T?ognlien
and Schumann, Aye. No noes- The Resolution was declared duly passed.
It was thereupon moved by Alderman Dickey arxi seconded by
Alderman Buckingham t)7at the r4ity Council appropriate the sum of
Fifty Dollars for the purpose of defraying the expenses of taking
a cencus of the city of Kalispell.
Said motion was carried by the following vote: Alderman
Bienz, Buckingham, Dickey, Jones, ognlien and Schumann, Aye. No Noes
At this time the Mayor nominated Chas. Rupple as Chemical
Man in the -mire Department for thirty days. The nomination was
confirmed by the following vote: Aldermn Binezt Buckineha*, Dicke7,
Jones,, Rogilien and Schumann,, Aye. No Noes.
The 1jayor thereupon nominated H. H. Hubbart as Driver In the
7ire Department for thirty days. This nomination was confirmed by the
following vote: Alderman, Buckingham, Bienz., Dickey, Jones, ognlier,
and Schumann, Aye. ITo Nones.
At this time the claim of A. Heller for damages done to goods
in his,sellar by reason of a defective sewer was presented to t1he
council and on motion- of Alderman Schumann, and seconded bY Alderman
Dickey, the claim was allowed for $,40.00 and rlerk directed to
pay the same, if the amount would. be accepted by the claimant in
full settlement. This motion was carried by the following vote:
Alderman Buckingham, Bienz, Dicke7, Jones, nognlien and Schumann
Aye. No Noes. I

At this time the report of the Printing Committe was read.
Said report reccomened that the contract for city printing be let
to Houtz and Buseyl their bid being the best and lowest bid received.
It was then moved by Buckingham and seconded by Dickey that the
report of the Printing Committee be accepted and the contract for
City printing be awared to Houtz and Busey at the prices named in
thier bid. Said contract to extend for a period ol one year from
and after iwevember ist l9w. Said mot-�on was carried by the

It was then moved by Alderman Schumann and seconded by Alderman
Buckingham that resignation be accept;d and 'the council proceed to
the unexpired term.

Thereupon Alderman Dickey Nominated I. D. Rognlien as City
Treasuer of the City of alispell forftbA theungfplred term.
The nomination was seconded by Alderman Buckingham.
,Alderman Schumann then moved that the nominations be closed and
the council proceed to ballot on the nomination. Motion seconded by
Alderman Bienz, Motion carried unanimously.
