A RESOLUMN TO ESTABLISH SPECIA1 IMPRBVEMENT DISTINT 00. 31,
HE IT RES01VED BY THE CITY COUYCIL OP THE CITY OF
KAL i SPELI§
That it is the intention of said city council to create a new
Special Improvement Disttict to be known & Special Tmprovement
District No. 31 for the purpose of construction cenent walks
therein, the boundaries of said special %provement District are to
beasfollows, to -wit;
Commencing at a point there the center line of Second "Street
entersects the center line of the Alley between Third and Fourth
Axanues West, thence south in the center of said Alley to a point
where it intersects the center line Fourth Strn#j thence west to the
intersection of Fourth Street and Fourth Avenue West,_ thence
south to the intersection of Fourth Avenae West with Fifth street,
trance wept to the .intersection of the center of Fifth street with
the qynter line of the alley between Fourth and Fifth Avenues West,
thence north through the center of said alley to Second Street.
thence east to the place of beginning. Said district to include
in the above described boo-ndaries the West half of Block 52 and
69 and the East°half of Blocks 51, 70 and 71.
Said Bpecial Improvement District herein above described Is
to be improVed as follows: by construct-]Lng cement walks on said
fourth. Avenues West, , within the above described boundaries, and
along the -half block above Named which cement walks shall be con-
structed so as to conform to the following specifications, to -wit;
Said walks to be constructed of Portland cement, sand and gravel
Mixed with water; foundations to be of not less than four inches Of
gravel or cinders; concrete to be not less than three and one half
inches thick, made in the following proportions. One part acceptable
Portland cement, two parts sand and four parts broken stone or
gravel. The top dressing of said walks shall be not less than three
fourths of an inch thick, consisting*of one part Portland cement,
same as used in concrete to one and one half parts sand, walk to be
five feet wide and to be a space of one foot between property line
and walk.
The approximate cost of said improvements is the sum of $1726.C*
and the same shall be paid by special, assessment upon all of the
assessable property within said "Special Improvement District exclu-
sive of streets, alleys and public places, and each piece or
parcel of land within said district shall pay that proportion of
the cost of said improvements as the area thereof bears to the
area of the entire distrivt, exolusive of streets, alleys and public
places.
Re it further resolved that not. -Lee be published in the
Kalispell Journal for at least one issue, for the full time required
by law therefor, said Kalispell Journal ,beinga Newspaper of general
circulation in said City of Kali pell, Montana, giving notice of the
intention on tho part of said City Council to make said improvements
notifyinf all owners or agents of t1v property within said Special
Improvement District No. 31 to be affected or benefited thereby,,
that said city council will meet on the 10th day of June 1908, at
8 o'clock P. M. in the CouncilChambers at the City Hall Kalispell,,,
Montana, to consider any objections to the final establishl"ment
of said Special Improvement Distridt, which said oBjections mu,st
be in writing and filed with the city clerk on or before said date,
It JLS further .0-rdered by the City Co'Incil that all assessments
levidd aagainst sdId'-p-roperty within said Special ISprovement
District No. 31 shall be in eight equal installments or payrAents,
the first of which shall be paid in the year 1908,, and all deferred
payments to bear interest at the rate of six per cent per annum,
payable annually.
. On motion made by Alderman Rognlien, and Seconded by Alder -man
Jones, that said resolution be passed the vote `was aa rollows;

This being the time for the City Council of the City of
Kalispell to meet pursuant to adjournment and thehe being no
alderman present the meeting was adjourned by the Mayor until the,
17th,day bf June 1945.
Read and approved this day of Vuly 1908.
June 17th; 1908 City Council of the City of Kalispell,
met in regular adjourned cession at 8 o'clock P. M. in the Council
Qjmber of the City Bull ,'pursuant to the adjournment on the 10th QW
of June 1908. Roll call slowed the following aldermen present to -
wit; Alderman, BuckinEhOW Bienz, Dickey, Jones, Rognlien and
Schuman.
