Resolution 175 - Sewer Construction - 2nd & 3rd Ave E AlleyTHRREUPaU THE FtlLIOWI_•�G RESOL T 121 WAS BEAD AND I'° RODUCHY A RESOLUTION 7GR THE CONSTRUCTION GF A SZVHR y IN THR ALIXY BET! ��T ,SECOND AHD THIRD AVENUES BAST O LXTE ND ING FROM T HE JOU T H SIDE OF ,EIGRT STREET TO THR CRITTER OF ELEVENTH STR ATt WR AS, it is the sence of the majority vote of the City Council of the City of Kalispell, that it is necessary _for the sanitary purpose that a sewer be constructed from the south side of Bight Street to tbo center of Eleventh Street; Be it therefore resolved that a dewe":r'ei,ght inches in diameter be constructed from the south side of eight street to the center of Eleventh Street in the alley between Sednnd aiid,. bk id, Avenues Last at a total estimated coasts of $1260.00 which amount will be assessed against all of the property in Blocks.NoA. 118, 123, and 135 9f the original trawnsite of Kalispell, Montana. That said sewer shall be constructed under the supervisionv of the City Engineer; the material to be of Vitri- fied sewer pipe to be constructed under the contract let to the lowest bidder after clue notice of the bids to be published as recuirad by law. That the costs of the aforesaid serer small. be Levied aga- inst they property as lareinfore specified it proppr°ticn to the area of said propertAes. That a levy against, all, of the aforesaid property according to the area: thereof requiring they payment of said sewer to be made in three equal anneal install.m.ents$ the first of which shall be paid in the year 1908, and all deferred payments to bear interest at the rate of 6ix peroaent per annum, pVmen.t annu- ally. Be it further resolved that a notice by published in one issue of the Kalispell- Journal before the 27th day of July , 1908. Notifying all concerned that the City Council will meet in the City Hall o n. said 27th day of July, 19089 at 8 o'clock to hear and entertain objections for the construction of said sewer either by the owne=r® or agents of the property to be effected thereby, w It was moved and alderman Rognlien, and se:cNW by alderman Dickey that said resolution doe paso. This being the time seat for opening bids for they grading and, pav ing of the alleys in Blocks, 55 and 561cf the following bids were open4d`and read: For 56 Y Spec al Improvement District No, 292 R. Greig, t460.00. Hetzer &> Sanford, 400.00. For grading and graveling the alley in. Bboek 55, Special Improvement District No. 30; M. B. Gre ig, 410. OO. H?tzer° & Sanford, 385.00. Lids for paving alley in Block 56 Jecial ImprovenBnt District No. 29. M. B. Gre i, Hetzer & Sanford, 1050.00. Bids for paving the axxey in nvoex b5 Special I"provement District No. 30. M. B. Gre ig, Qtzer-& Sanford, 4940.00. 1000.00. The foregoing bids were referred to the street and alley committee to report at the next meeting, Bids for the construction of a sewer in the a1le7 between Win Street and Fifth Street were 0 opened, wdd read as follows; Is F. A Odegard $115001000and $6.0. for each connection, The foregoing bids were referred to the Sewer Committee which coz,.mittee reported in favor of acceptingibbe bids of I. R. Sanford. It was moved by alderman Jones,and seconded by aldermEn Bienz that the report of the street and alley committee be accepted and the contract for the construction of the sewer of last above referred to be awarded to I. R. Sanford. It appearing that the preliminary resolution providing for the creation of jecial Improvement District No. 34 had been publl-Adho- ed as required by law, and that no protest in writing or otherwisen had been wade car filed agaijst its final passage. It is thereupon moved by alderman Rognlien and seconded by alderman Bienz that said resolution be finally adopted. On roll call the motion was carried by thB following vote; alderman Menz, Sdiuman, Dickey,Rognlien I Jones, Aye, No, Ves. The resoluticn it is declared adopted as the same appears in full on ,pages 318, W of these records, It appearing that the resolutions creating Special Imjrovement District No. 33 had been published as required by law,, M and that no protest or obligations in writing or otherwise had been made against its final adoption. It was,thBrefore, finally moved and alderman Buckingham and seconded by alderman Dickey, that said resolgt ion create the said Improvement District No. 33 as the same appears in full on page 317, 318 of these records be adopted. This moticn was carried by the following vote. Alderman Bienz, Jones, Dickey, RognMen, Schuman, Aye, No, Noes. It was moved by alerrman Jones and seconded by alderman Dickey the sum of $600.00 be transferred from the contingent fund to the general fund, and the sum of 180.00 be transferred from the Dog fund to the General fund. Tbo motion was carried to the following vote; Buckingham, Bienz, Jones, Dickey, Rognlien, and Schuman, Aye, No, Noes. Tho following mot ion made by alderman Buckingham, wlereas, it appears from the statement of the City Clerk that W. A. Powers has not filed a bond as required by the conditions imposed upon him by the City Council on the 12nd day of June, 1908, aWas not filed any bond whatever, I moves.,.. that the City Coimcil reject allbids nade for the construction of cement walks, and the Clerk bead irected to re' -advertise for bids to be opened on the 20th day of Vuly'19081at 8 o'clock P. Y. Bills and Claims against the City of Kalispell, humbered 10119 to 10236 were read and referred to the auditine committee, who reported that the snme be paid, It is thereopon moved by allerman Buckingham and seconded by alderman Rognlien, that the bills be paid and the clerk instr- Ucted to issue warrants for the same.
