RESOLUTION NO. 3214
A RESOLUTION TO HOLD AN ELECTION ON THE QUESTION AS TO WHETHER THE
CITY COUNCIL, THE KALISPELL PARKING COMMISSION, OR BOTH, SHALL BE
AUTHORIZED TO ADOPT THE REVENUE BOND METHOD OF FINANCING OFF-STREET
PARKING FACILITIES.
WHEREAS, the Kalispell Parking Commission has conducted meet-
ings and had consultations concerning the most feasible plan to
provide the immediate uptown area with a central off-street parking
facility supplemented with off-street satellite parking lots in the
near city center area, and
WHEREAS, it appears to the Kalispell Parking Commission that
the most feasible way to finance such a plan is to use the revenue
bond method as outlined in Sections 7-14-1641 and following sections
of the Montana Code Annotated, and
WHEREAS, revenue bond method of financing of such projects
cannot be adopted until the question of utilizing such method of
financing has been submitted to the electors of the city at an
eleQtion, and
WHEREAS, the City does wish to submit said question to the
elec,tors of the City at the next general city election,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor shall take the
necessary steps to submit to the electors of the City at the next
general election the question as to whether the City Council or
the Kalispell Parking Commission, or both, shall be authorized to
adopt the revenue bond method of financing off-street Parking
facility projects as permitted by the laws of the State of Montana.
