RESOLUTION NO. 3108
A RESOLUTION TO ALTER AND AMEND THE PLANS AND SPECIFIOATIONS OF CONTRACT
WITH PACK = COMPANY ON CONSTRUCTION OP STORM DRAIN IMPROVEMENTS, HUD
GRANT NO. 11-76-m�-3o-0008.
WHEREAS, the City didv on February 9, 1977, enter into a contract with
Pack and Company of Kalispell, Montana for otorm drain improvements on 7th
Avenue West on the Construction of Storm Drain Improvements Project (HUD
Grant No. 1�-76-DN-30-0008); and
WTEREAS, upon the advice and recommendation of Stahly Engineering &
Associates, who is the City's consultant and engineer on said project,
certain changes a -ad alterations of design and.specifications have been
found necessary and adviseable and in the best interests of the City; and
said changes and alterations could not have been necessarily foreseeable
when the original design and specifications were prepared on this phase of
the Cons-ttuction of Storm Drain Improvements Project, and said changes are
contained in Exhibit "All attached hereto and are by this reference made a
paxt hereof; and
WHEREAS, it appears in the best interests of the City to approve said
changes and alterations,
NOW THEREFORE, pursuant to the provisions of Section 11-1204v R.C.M.,
1947, be it hereby resolved-.
1. The alterations and modifications of the specifications and plans
of the contract between the City of Kalispell and Pack and Company, dated
February 9, 1977, as set out in Exhibit "All attached hereto, are hereby
approved; and
2. As soon as the price to be paid for said alterations and modif—
ications are agreed to in writing, signed by the contractor, as hereby
approved by the Council, this approva thereof shall be in effect.

JUSTIFICATION A 301, access manhole was installed where the existing storm drain
ties into the new 4211 R.C.P. storm drain at the re2ueot of the City of YalisDell's
storm sewer maintenance personnel to facilitate clean -out of the old,system should
there be delays in installation of the remainder of the new southwest storm sewer
system.

drain to be 61 in length. This should be extended to beyond the curb tunns s-o—that the
pavement to be installed this year will not be disturbed when Phase 3 of the SW area
storm sewer -is constructed U a I-a7er date. 2. This Bid item was Me-li-xTe-d to provide
for temporary asphalt curbs for drainage channelization around the new curb inlets and

3. The original contract called for the installation of the 7th Ave. W. storm drain
system Up to 71H St- Me- above cost of $33,141.80 has been added to allow conR tion
