A RESOLUTION TO ALTER AND AMEND T14E PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS OF CONTRACT
WITH LOFTUS LOMSCAPING, INC. ON KALISPELL GOLP COTME PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City did, on July 22, 1975, enter into a contract with
Loftus Landscaping, Inc. of Kennewick, Washington for fine grading construct-
ion and related work on the Kalispell Golf Course Project; and
WHERrAS, upon the advlee and recommendation of Robert Muir Graves, Golf
Course Axchitect, who is the City's consultant and engineer on said project,
certain changes and alterations in the specifications of the sand and pea
gravel were noted, in that the original contract stated that these would be
obtained from the City pit adjacent to the project. This change order adds
back to the contract, sand and pea g-ravel delivered and obtained from outside
sources. Said changes and alterations have been found necessary and advisable
and in the best interests of the city; and said changes and alterations could
not have been necessarily foreseeable when the original design and specific-
ations were prepared on this phase of the golf course project. Said changes
are contained in Exhibit "All attached hereto and is by this reference made a
part hereof; and
WHEREASt it appears in the best interests of the City to approve said
changes and alterations,
NOW THEREFORE, pursuant to the provisions of Section 11-1204, R,C.M,t
1947, be it hereby resolved:
1. The alterations and modifications of the specifications and plans of
the contract between the City of Kalispell and Loftus Landscaping, Inc,, dated
July 22, 1975, as set out in Exhibit "All attached hereto, and is hereby
approved; and
2. As soon as the price to be paid for said alterations and modifications
are agreed tq__1n writing, signed by the contractor and approved by the Council,
this approy6l thereof shall be,��Jfect.

The following changes are hereby made to the Contract dated July 22, 1975:
1. Add to contract: 3,405 yards of sand @ 3.41/ yard.
2. Add to contract: 550.05 yards of pea gravel @ $3.681 yard.
The contract priceAs changed to $50,285.98.
There is no change in the contract time.
JUSTIFICATION
Sections 2.2.1 and 2.3.1 of the specifications stated the sand and pea
gravel would be obtained from the City pit adjacent to the golf course. However,
the material in this pit did not meet specifications. The requirement for the
contractor to screen and haul the material from the city pit was deleted in
change order number t. This change order adds back to the contract sand and
pea gravel delivered and obtained from outside sources. The cost thereof
is reasonable.
ACCEPTANCE
The City of Kalispell, owner, and Loftus Landscaping, Inc., contractor,
in the above referenced contract, do hereby agree to the term% and conditions
of the instant change order #2 and,.A�.,—. Is effective this date"
