A RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE FOR "STOP" SIGNS TO CONTROL TRAFFIC
ENTERING THE INTERSECTIONS OF CENTER STREET WITH THIRD AVENUE
EAST AND FOURTH AVENUE EAST; PROVIDING FOR INSTALLATION OF SUCH
SIGNS AND PROVIDING THAT DISOBEDIENCE THEREOF TO BE A VIOLATION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL:
SECTION 1. As,provided by Ordinance No. 53B(1,5) (Section 17-15,
Kalispell City Code), the City Council does determine and desig-
nate that "Stop" signs be placed to require drivers of all motor
vehicles stop before entering the intersections of Center Street
with Third Avenue East and with Fourth Avenue East. Such signs
shall conform with State of Montana laws and regulhti6ns for
such signs on public highways of the State of Montana.
SECTION 2. All drivers of motor vehicles entering said inter-
sections shall yield the right of way to any other vehicle already
in said intersection, but said driver, having so yielded, may
then proceed through said intersection in a careful and cautious
manner, and all other drivers of vehicles approaching said
intersection shall yield the right of way to the vehicles so pro-
ceeding into and through said intersection.
SECTION 3. The Street Superintendent shall place and install
appropriate "Stop" signs as herein provided forthwith.
SECTION 4. When said signs are installed as herein provided,
failure to stop before entering the intersections and failure to
yield the right of way as provided herein shall be a violation of
the City Code, and same shall be punishable as provided in
Section No. 1-9, Kalispell C# de.
