RESOLUTION NO. 2804
A RESOLUTION TO PERMIT THE CITY OF KALISPELL TO MAKE AN ALL-PURPOSE
ANNUAL MILL LEVY OF NOT TO EXCEED 65 14ILLS AND SET UP A CAPITOL
IMPROVEME,NT PROGRAM.
nnnsp the legislative assembly of the state of xontana
has, in the 1971 session thereof,,enacted Senate Bill No. 321,
which authorizes and empowers cities and towns of Montana to make
an all-purpose annual mill levy in lieu of multiple levies now
authorized by the statutes of the State of Montana, and
WHEREA.9, it is the desire of the Council of the City of Kalispell
to utilize such an all-purpose mill levy�
NOW TMEREFORE, be it resolved by the council of the City of
Kalispell that said city may make an all-purpose levy upon the
assessed value of all taxable property in said city for municipal
purposes in lieu of the multiple levies now authorized by the
statutes of the State of Montana. The total of such all-purpose
levy shall not exceed sixty five (65) mills on the dollar. Said
levy shall not include any levies necessary for bonded indebtedness,
judgments, or special improvement districts revolving obligations of
the City. The City shall also establish a Capitol Improvement
Program for the replacement and acquisition of property, plant
and/or equipment costing in excess of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00)
with a life expectancy of five (5) years or more.
The various officers and employees of the City shall administer
said all-purpose levy and said Capitol Improvement Program in
accord with Sections 84-4701.1, et seq.#.R.C.M., 1947, as amended.
