Resolution 2722 - Creates Neighborhood Development BoardRESOLUTION NO. 2722
ENTITLED: "RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE PROVISIONS OF SECTIONS 1
THROUGH 20 OF CHAPTER 165, L. 1959, AS AMENDED, AND
CREATING THE KALISPELL NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT BOARD."
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL DOES RESOLVE:
Section 1. That the City Council does find that blighted
areas exist in the City and that the rehabilitation, con-
servation, redevelopment, or a combination thereof of
such areas is necessary and in the interest of the public
health, safety, morals or welfare of the residents of the
City.
Section 2. That the urban renewal powers granted the
City of Kalispell by the Montana Urban Renewal Act shall
be exercised by the City (pursuant to Section 11-3915)
and that the City of Kalispell shall be known as the
Local Public Agency and shall have the decision making
power for all urban renewal activities within the city,
Section 3. That there is hereby created the Kalispell
Neighborhood Development Board, said Board to consist of
five members to be appointed by the Mayor subject to the
ratification of the City Council. In addition, the
City Engineer shall sit on the Board in an advisory
capacity.
Section 4. That said board shall act as an advisory body
to the City Council and shall make recommendations with
respect to the urban renewal activities of the City, and
shall preform other related duties as delegated by the
City Council.
