OLD BUSINESS:
Beehive Homes — 242 Stillwater; new assisted living/memory care unit. Public Works received their
resubmittal yesterday and will be reviewing these. This will be on the agenda for next week.
Calaway Apartments — 1079 N Meridian; new apartment complex. Jentz has sent out a letter
requesting them to respond to the Public Works infrastructure design issues or Building Permit issues
by July 1st or their CUP will be void and they'll have to start over. There has been no response
received yet to this letter. Haskins noted that he spoke with Rob Smith 2-3 weeks ago, asking him if
they were going to resubmit, and Smith stated that he was told to hold off. This will be on the agenda
for next week.
91/93/97 Financial Drive — new four-plex CUP. Haskins stated that Public Works has not received
any submittal from them on the civil. Sorensen noted that they are moving forward. Parker stated
that he spoke with an architect from Helena who has an interest in this project but was not sure if the
architect is officially employed by them. This will be on the agenda for next week.
Captain's Marine — Hwy 93 S; new retail building. Parker stated he is finishing their plan review
comments this morning. We will be getting as -built drawings. The bike path is not on the civil
drawings, and he noted in his comments that they will need to put it on their drawings. Freyholtz
stated they will need to get an encroachment permit from MDT. Haskins noted that Public Works
will need to make sure they meet our minimum requirements on the path, referencing the AASHTO
Bicycle and Pedestrian Design Guides. This will be on the agenda for next week.
Canvas Church — 255 Summit Ridge; expansion of existing church. Resubmittal plans have been
received and Wargo is just finishing up with her review. They still need to complete their
Geotechnical Soils Report. This will be on the agenda for next week.
NEW BUSINESS:
Weber Apartments (Bloomstone) — Treeline Road; eight 12-plex apartments. They plan to loop the
water line to provide minimum fire flows. ARC tabled this project at their Tuesday meeting,
requesting more variety of colors and adding in some evergreen trees. Sorensen suggested to them
that they add a play area for children. Haskins asked about the location of their mailboxes. They do
have garbage container locations designated. Their trash facilities will need to have an ADA access
route to them. Nygren asked about the bike path.
PLANNING OFFICE ITEMS:
KRMC Parking Lot Expansion and Zone Change —This will be going to the City Council on July
6th with a Resolution of Intent. Nygren stated that KRMC will be removing their temporary parking
lot along with all the gravel, and putting down top soil in that location in response to working
positively with the neighborhood concerns.
Stillwood Farms — Four Town Homes on North Riding — Fraser will be bringing in the Final Plat for
this project.
Spring Prairie Phase IV — Blumenstein informed Nygren that they have received the letter from the
Army Corps of Engineers. In their discussion, she indicated that she is in agreement with it.
OTHER REPORTS:
Future Projects - Sorensen noted that Popeye's will be submitting their plans by the end of the
month. KRMC will be submitting their ER expansion in July or August. Spring Prairie Phase IV
will also be coming in soon.
406 Grille — Crowley informed the committee that Kalispell's first Parklet Permit has been issued to
406 Grille.
FCEDA — Haskins has been working through the design review for the FCEDA Park and will be
sending out his comments today. Their Phase One is only for the water. They will be extending a 12"
main all around their site and then all the way down to Fourth and Oregon. It's a big project.
