Resolution 2223 - Oil PurchaseRESOLUTION NO. 2223
WHEREAS, the City of Kalispell is now having difficulty
in purchasing crude oil for road purposes and cannot buy
oil already heated and ready to apply, and is not in a
position to economically hear the oil itself; and
WHEREAS, the Hi&way Department of the State of
Montana has the facilities to purchase and heat oil, and
due to its advantageous position is able 'to purchase
oil at economical prices and is willing to purchase oil
and sell it to the city at a figure equaling the cost
of the oil and handling to the Highway Department, as it
is now doing for the County of Flathead, as well as other
municipalities in Flathead County; NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Kalispell, lJontana, that the City avail itself of this
opportunity to secure road oil, and that it purchase from
the Highway Department of the State of Montana any of the
oil the City needs for road and street Durposes from the
present time until the termination of this agreement, at
and for the cost price of such oil to the said Highway
Department, plus 10% covering the cost to the Highway
Department in handling such oil and that the city, through
its City Engineer and proper oflicers, should order oil
of such grades and kinds as needed from time to time
from said Highway Department, in conformity with the tules
procedure and practice which may be established by the
Highway Department, delivery to be taken by the city equip-
mbnt at the facilities of the State Highway Departraent-in
Kalispell, Montana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED '1HAT A copy of this resolution
be given to the State Highway Commission.
