Resolution 2143 - National Guard ArmoryRESOLUTION NO. __Rjja_ WHEREAS1 the State of Montana is desirous of acquiring real property in Kalispell for the purpose of erecting or having erected thereon a motor storage shed and depot and an armory for use of units of the National Guard of Montana, and other military units and organizations as well as for the benefit of the people of the City of Kalispell and of this community; AND WHEREAS3 the installation and erecti)n of such facilities will greatly benefit the City of,Kalispell and its citizens by the expenditure of considerable sums of money in connectioniherewith as well as the furnishibng to this city, its people and this community of a building and other facilites which will be of great use to them in the future; AND WHERKiS, it is necessary that any land and site for such buildings be fTirnished without cost to the State of 1ontara in order to secure the erection and installation of such facilities and the City of Kalispell is now the owner of certain Lots in Kalispell described as Lots One Two and Three of Block Twnety- four of the Original Townsite ol Kalispell, Montana, which lots may be furnished and donated to the State of Mortana for the purposes aforesaid; AND WFFIIEAS, the City Council of the City of Kalispell, after thorough investigation, did at a special meeting called for such purpose on March 11, 1949, determine that said Lots could and should be so furnished to the S*ate of 11.1ontana for such purposes, and deeming that the bpst,interest of the City of Kalispell and its citizens would be served by the f-urnisheing without cost to the State of Montana of slid described Lots, to he used, however, only the purposes aforesaid; and said Council at such meeting CV direct the preparation of a resolution for the otirpose of authorizing the transfer of said Lots for such purposes. BE IT THE1REFO':-E RESOLVED BY "TIE CT"N COU�TCIL OF THE CITY 011, KALISPELL, That the above described Lots in Kalispell be granted and and conveyed to the State of ­ontann for a consideration of One Dollar but for the purposes aforesaid on1y, to -wit; That there be con- structed and installed thereon a motor storage shed or depot, an armory for the use of the National Guard and other military units and organizations , and for the"'us'o' of the 'PlIblid' to" the""btft6ht" to which such other uses may be had without interference to the primary purpose by such i5ilitary organizations, and that such uses and purposes incidental to the foregoing may be made of"said property and building structures and installations placed thereon incideittal to the foregoing expressed n,rposes;. that said property be not used for any purposes except as are comprised hereina�'ove set forth, and that sho,.-Ild said property so conveyed be hereinafter used for anyother than above mentioned purposes of the same be aboundoned by the State of -ontana that title 6 all thereof shall thereoupon revert to and become re -vested in the City of Kalispell, a municipal corporation; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the City of Kalispell be and be hereby is authorized and directed to execute, in the name of and on behalf of -the of the City of Kalispell, a municipal corporation for the sum of One Dollar (1.00) a good and su ficient deed conveying to the State of Montana th- above descrifed real proPerty, but-fbr the uses and purposes hereinabove mentioned and with a cla-ase contained in such grant or conveyance for the reversion of title of said property t said City irt the event of nbandonment of spid property by the State of -ontana or �heir none -use for said pruposes or attempted use for other purposes not consistent with the uses and pxposes hereinabove set forth.
