91, IT RESOLVED 9Y THE COUNCIL OP TTIF CITY OF KALISPUL, MONTAN4:
WIPMEAS, the current budget of the City of Kalispell fails
to provide sufficient funds to pay all of the expenses incident
and necessary in the conduct of the office of the Health Officer
and of the City 7ire Department, due in the case of' the Health
officer to an unprecedented num�er of cases of contagious diseas-
es within the past four mon ths requiring the expenditure of vari-
ous sums for quarantining homes, fumigating the same and doing
other things required by law which could not be foreseen at the
time of the making of the annual budget in the year 1936, and
this excess expenditure amounts to the sum of approximately $180,00;
and due to the additional firemen employed to comply with the law
passed at the last sessinn of the Montana State Legislature fixing
the hours of work of members of paid fire departments of cities
of the second class, the budget for this department was exceeded
by approximately $250.00, and
WHEREAS, such oblieations incurred as above set forth exceed
the amount provided by the last annual budget and by reamn there-
of it is necessary and mandatory that the same be paid;

BE IT THFREFOR-7, RESOLVED, THAT AN QA7 FNCY IS D CLARED
to exist under the provisions of' the Section 5083.8 of the Revised
Codes of t4ontana, 1935, and the current budget for the two funds
above named be exceeded in the following amounts respectively:
Expense of the City Health Officer 4180.00
Expense of the City Fire Department 4250.00
That emergency warrants be drawn against the funds above named
and properly chargeable with such expenditures; that the City
Treasurer is authorized and directed to pay such warrants with any
money in any funds available for that purpose and if there Is not
.sufficient money available to pay such warrants then the same shall
be registered, bear interest and be called for payment in the man-
ner provided for by law for other city warrants.
This being, an emergency resolution as set forth herein, the
same shall take effect and be in full force and effect irm ediately
upon its passage and approval.
Passed by the Council of the City of Kalispell, Montana, and
approved by the Mayor thereof on the 6th day of Tuly, 1937.
