Moved by Haddow that easement be granted with the provision that it be effective so long as they continue tocperate at this location Motion seconded and carried. SPECIAL'MEETING Mayor A Special Meeting of the City Council was held October 12th, 1959, at 7:30 P.M. in accordance with the following notice given and acknowledged: TO THE HONORABLE BOARD OF -ALDERMEN CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA Gentlemen:' There will be a special meeting of the City Council Monday, October 12th, 1959, at 7:30 P: M., for the following purposes: ACT ON COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PURCHASE OF ITEMS BID OCTOBER 5th REPORTS OF OTHER COMMITTEES We, the undersigned, being all of the members of the City Council, do hereby waive notice of the date and purpose of the special meeting of -the City Council to be held Monday, October 12, 1959, at 7:30 P. Councilmen Fisher, Haddow, Harmon, Horstman; Huggins, Metcalf, and Ryder were present. Vick was absent. Harmon submitted report of Safety Committee on Ambulance bids. Moved by Ryder that Council accept bid on 1959 Superior Coach Ambulance at a net cost of $5,613.25 after trade in of 1954 ambulance, and that the Mayor be authorized to execute a purchase contract on -terms agreeable to Finance Committee. Motion seconded by Huggins and.carried. Haddow reported for Street and Alley Committee on loader bids. Recommended further study and possibility of repairing our Michigan loader and demonstrations of new machines with City operators. Haddow moved acceptance of report, seconded by -Metcalf and carried. Huggins of Sewer and Water Committee Recommended acceptance of low bid of Fishbaugh Construction Company for Water Works Warehouse @ $11,489.00. He moved adoption of the report, seconded and carried. Finance Committee recommended acceptance of Union Oil Company bid on gasoline of .2265 for regular and .259 for premium (price includes state tax - excludes federal tax), and bid of Texaco for fuel oil @ .1450. Moved by Horstman report be accepted. Seconded and carried. 1 1 Horstman reported for Committee on Radio Equipment and recommended all bids be rejected because of contingencies in type of equipment bid. Horstman moved that bids be rejected and new call for bids be made. Seconded by Huggins and carried. Sewer and Water Committee report by Huggins recommended acceptance of Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Company bid on car load of cast-iron pipe and fittings @ $6,552.50. Huggins moved acceptance of report. Seconded by Haddow and carried. Huggins reported for Sewer and Water Committee with recommendation to accept bid of Kalispell Plumbing and Heating Company for Water Mains in S. It D. No. 297 of $19,518.25, being the lowest bid and being within the bond amount.authorized. Huggins moved adoption of the report. Seconded by Fisher and carried. Horstman reported for Safety Committee on Police cars, recommending rejection of all bids and re -advertising. Moved by Metcalf that specifications be followed and set aside, bids not qualify- ing.. Seconded by Huggins and carried. Moved by Huggins that the preceding motion be rescinded. Seconded by Metcalf and carriid. Moved by Horstman that the bid of Shelton bus line to lease 2 1960 Pontiac Police cars @ $149.50 each per month be accepted, it being determined by the Committee that by including oil, grease, and replacement of tires, this is the lowest and best bid. Motion seconded by Harmon and carried. Moved by Fisher that Police Chief and Engineer be instructed to install pedestrian cross walk markings at Edgerton School corner across Idaho Street and at corner of Wyoming St. and No. 93 Highway. Seconded and carried Moved by Harmon Light Committee report on new lights at Peterson School be tabled until next meeting., Seconded and carried. The Sidewalk project on 3rd Ave. E. N. was referred back to the Sidewalk and Curb Committee by`the Mayor Water Sprinkling District on Main St. & 1st Ave. E. below 4th St, was referred to Myles Johns for consideration on an individual block basis. Moved by Huggins that the boulevards be removed on 5th St. between 1st Ave. E. and 1st Ave. W. on both sides of 5th St. Seconded and carried. Moved by Horstman that all actions by the Council at this meeting be and are hereby ratified and confirmed,; seconded by Harmon and carried. Councilman Harmon requested permission to be absent from City at the time of the next regular meeting. Permission granted. Councilman Huggins moved for adjournment. Seconded and carried.
