It was moved by Marmon, seconded by Youn--, that the canvas of the returns
having been made by the City Council, and the tabulation as shown above found to
be correct, the following Citv Officials are hereby declared to be elected:

1959, for the issuance of Revenue Bonds in the amount of $250,000.00 having been

It was moved by Harmon, seconded by L'oun;;, that said Revenue Bond Issue he
and the same is hereby declared to be duly carried and authorized. ?Motion unanimously
carried.

The minutes of the rc,.ular mcetin of April nth and special meeting April 13th
were read and approved as rear..
City Officials" Monthly P.eports:

motions duly made, seconded and carriec'.
'reports of Committees:
Finance Chairman Harmon reported that all monthly bills against the City had
been audited and approved and mcved that payment of same he allowed. �Ioticn seconded
and carried.
Sewer and Water Chairman Carlisle reported Committee approved of application
of Dcn ."dams for a temporary water hook-up to present line in .`.da^s Addition and
moved that Council confirm Motion seconded and carried.
Sidewalk and Curb Chairman 1Iu:—ins reported that the Committee had investigated
the matter of curb cuts at the B & B Grocery, and had approved a full ramp on
Montana Street, and full curb cut in front of present and their new parkin:; areas.
llu ;ins "loved that this action of the Committee be made the action of the Council.
Motion seconded and carried.
lie also moved for Council approval in ^ranting full curb cut for Farmers
Union Service Station on 4th Ave. E. N. and removal of sprinklin, 'riv_drant at that
location. Motion seconded and carried. -
Mayor Walter then called a recess and invited the Mayor and Councilmen elect
to seats at the Council table. Ile then expressed his appreciation to the Council
members, other City Officials and employees for the spleneid co-cope_-ation given
him during his four years as •_`ayor of Kalispell- and wished the inco.nin' officers
success in their administration.
Mayor Elect Howard hammer then re -convened the meeting with the new Council,
composed of 11. A. -Fisher, George Haddow, T. C. Harmon, Bernard Iiorstman, Dr. H. D.
Huggins, Fred Metcalf, Walter Ryder, and Richard Vick, and expressed his thanks
to the former Council for their good services and outlined his policy to welcome
new ideas that will pass this test: Is it fair to the taxpayer, can the City
afford it, can the City afford not to do it.
Mayor hammer then. made the followin1s appointments:

Chief of Police (30 day appointment) - .Tames Curtis
City Engineer (30 day appointment) - Lloyd B. McClintick
It was moved by Marmon that the above appointments be confirmed. Ioticn
seconded and carried.
A petition was presented by Yrs. George Tomfohr, aslcin;, for e of an
Ordinance prohibiting the runnin- of dogs at large in the Citv. The Mavor referred
this to a special committee composed of Fisher, Haddow, and I.orstman..
The Mayor also named iletcalf, Ryder, and Fisher to the en:?loynicnt committee.
'Ir. Werner Naumann, representing; Plumbers' Union, called attention to install-
ation of water softeners without the proper air gap between water and sewer lines
and asked for enforcement of the plumbing code. It was moved by 11-,,ins that the
I7ealth Officer and Sewer and Water Committee make a report on this after further
study. Motion seconded and carried.
Don Adams asked the Council to proceed with the S. I. I1. for ',dams Addition
and it was agreed Council would take up the matter at the next s--)ccial meeting.
F. A. Flagg asked Council for permission to tap the drain pine on the south
side of R. R. at Meridian Road to drain his land west of -Kalispell Lu-*.,er Company.
The Mayor appointed the Se,.oer and Water Committee, Hug,gins, c i-Sher, and I:yder
to investigate.
Petitions for the following new street liIhts were presented:
Entrance Street to N rthridge Heights
6th Ave. East and 12th St.
7th ,ve. East and 12th St.
Moved by Hug -ins that these be approved and installation ordered. .Motion
seconded and carried.
