09/08/64 City Council Minutestoy REGULAR MEETING Regular monthly meeting of the Kalispell City Council held September 8, 1964 at 7:30 P. M. Mayor Flynn presided. Councilmen Ellingson, Homuth; Lenon, Roberts, Smyser and Turner were present..-Bjorneby and Jerrorw absent. Minutes of regular meeting of August 171th, were read. Roberts moved approval as'read - Seconded by Smyser and ,carried. City Officials Monthly Reports: Re tpf Chief of Police, City Engineer, City Sanitarian for Au�ust., Police l!f for July and August,, City Treasurer and City Clerk for and report of swimming pool for the'season were examined and accepted -on motion of Smyser. Seconded and ,esirrl'ed. Committee Reports: Turner, for Sewer -Water Committee, �AccR9e tern bid of Modern Equipment Co. for new Tractor -loader -with trade--in-of Cx�te rector. Homuth, Finance Committee, Reported claims audited by Committee and approved for payment.' Moved adoption of report.' -seconded by Roberts and -,carried, Addressing Council: Mrs. Maurice Kelly and Mrs. Marion Smithy Hers of house trailers on 8th and 9th Avenue' West, asked to retain 'trailers in present locations. Council .to study request before next week99-meeting. City Attorney Murray requested a 60 day leave of absence and the appoint- ment of Ken:OIBrien as Acting City Attorney. Homuth moved the appointment of Ken O'Brien,:Act'ing City Attorney during Murray's absence. Seconded and carried. Call forbids for 2500 feet of 6 inch cast iron pipe was authorized., on motion by Smyser, seconded by Roberts. Application of Frontier- 011 Company for curb out at Idaho and 4th Avenue E. N. was referred to Sidewalk and Curb Committee with power to act. Motion by Roberts, seconded and 'carried'. Smyser moved acceptance of the contract with Local Union No. 256, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees', effective for a 2 year period from July 1, 1964. Seconded and carried. Roberts moved:approval of the following Surety Bonds: Seconded and carried. Clarence A. Clapper d/b/a City Plumbing & Heating Norman Skiftin d/b/a Skiftin TV Electric Lenon moved that the purchase of wire fence for Lawrence Park Pump Station be authorized and call for bids if required. Seconded and carried. Councilman Roberts requested leave of absence from September llth to.,15tl Turner moved request be granted, seconded and carried. Councilman Smyser requested leave of absence from September 19th to October 3rd. Roberts, moved request be granted, seconded and carried. Roberts moved approval of Safety Committee proposal to install '"Right Turn on Red after Stop" signs on traffic lights. Seconded and carried. Homuth moved for adjournment. Seconded and carried.
