07/06/64 City Council Minutes1. 5 - REGULAR MEETING Regular monthly meeting of the'Kalispell City Council, July 6, 1964, 7:30 P.M. Mayor Flynn presided. Councilmen Bjorneby, Ellinngson, Homuth, Jerrow, Smyser and Turner were present. Lenon and'Roberts absent. - Minutes of the..regular,monthly meeting of June 15th were read. Bjorneby moved. approval as read. Seconded and carried. Citesâ–ş Officials Monthly Reports. Report of the Police Judge, Chief of -Police, City Engineer and City Sanitarian for .June, and City Treasurer and City Clerk for May were examined and approved on motion of Ellingson. Seconded by Turner and carried. Committee Reports: Smyser, for Annexation, - Report ed-hard.copy of.Browtfs-Addition now on file and moved adoption of Resolution No. 2529, a resolution of intention to annex Brown's Addition as shown by recorded plat. Motion seconded by Turner. Roll call vote'.was ' taken with all Councilmen voting for passage. Homuth, Finance Committee, Reported all claims examined and approved for payment. Moved adoption of report. Seconded and carried. Mayor Flynn announced that Woodland Flower Shop had donated a generous supply of flowers to replace those damaged by flood in Woodland -Park. Addressing the Council: A. representative of thg Union Oil Company announced plans to re -build their service station at lst. Avenue West and 1st. Street and asked for 2 additional curb` cuts on the lot. Homuth-moved to refer to Sidewalk and Curb Committee with power to act. Seconded and parried. Larry Stockhill preseoted a written offer to purchase a tract of land on the Airport to build an airplane hangar and repair shop. Referred to Recreation Commit- tee for examination -and report to Council at next meeting. Motion by Turner, seconded and carried. Chet Johnson also applied for a lease of a site on the Airport for operation of a flying service. Turner moved to refer to Recreation Committee for a report to Council. --Seconded and carried. Smyser moved that the Mayor be authorized -to sign 'renewal contract with Pacific Power & Light Company.covering water pumping rates. Seconded by Bjorneby and carried. Following bids for purchase of stock of copper tubing were opened. Total Price Crane Company - Spokane $4,497.12 Consolidated Supply Co. -Spokane 4,524.26; Western Utilities - Spokane 4,603.54 Thrifty Supply Co.- Spokane 4,456.68 Waterworks Equipment Co. -Salt Lake City 4,802.40 Hughes & Company.- Spokane 4,552.15 Grinnell Company - Great Falls 4,479.84 Kalispell Lumber Company 4,576.32 Montana Mercantile Company Missoula 4,673.59 Glbbe, Inc. Billings 4,351.40 Moved by Homuth bids be referred to City Engineer, Water Superintendant, and Sewer and Water Committee with power to act. Seconded and carried. Ordinance No. 706 was presented and read, an ordinance prohibiting vehicle parking in alleys or driveways. Smyser moved adoption of the ordinance. Seconded by Bjorneby. On roll call vote all Councilmen voted for adoption. Ordinance No. 707 was presented and read, an ordinance pertaining to collection of water bills. Bjorneby moved adoption, seconded by Homuth. Roll call vote taken: Voting for - 3 Councilmen Voting against- 3 Councilmen ' Motion failed of passage. Following bonds were approved: Motion by Turner$ seconded and carried. Rocky Mountain Electric - Electricians Bond Kalispell Plumbing &: Heating- Plumbers Bond Bjorneby moved approval of applications for beer and liquor licenses, per City Clerk's list. Seconded by Smyser and carried. Homuth moved for adjournment, seconded by Smyser and carried.
