ADDRESSING THE COUNCIL: Mr. Dean Jellison, representing the Airport Association, gave a progress re- port stating that the runway project was almost completed and paid for, and that it was expected the runway would be in use by July 1st. He reported that a light- ing system was planned and this would work in well with the beacon that was to be Installed. It is expected that the lighting system will be paid for in a short time. The Airport Association did not plan to limit the number of operators, as it Is felt that the competition of free enterprise would be a governing factor. The Airport Association planned to lease to Mr. Strand an area 300 x 400 ft. for $50.00 per month. Mr. Strand would be required to erect a permanent type building within a prescribed period of time and the title to the building would pass to the City. The reason that the lease for Mr. Strand was not ready as specified by the City Council was that 14r. Strand had been at Guard Camp, and therefore, was not available to work out the lease agreement, but that the lease would be ready within 2 weeks. Councilman Bjorneby stated that he believed that the number of operators should be limited and that it was unwise to allow three operators at the airport. Councilman 11. Roberts stated the minimum value of any building to be con- structed should be set. 1 1 1
