REGULAR MEETING
A regular meeting of the Kalispell City Council was held January 9, 1967,
at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers with Mayor Flynn presiding.
All councilmen were present.
The minutes of the December 12, 1966, meeting were read and approved as
read on motion of Councilman W. Roberts. Seconded by Councilman Bjorneby
and carried.
Committee Reports:
Library - Councilman O'Brien reported the Committee had a meeting with
the State Librarian to look into the possibility of obtaining funds for the
remodeling of the old Post Office building. It appears that matching funds
will be available, perhaps as much as 55%. It is possible that as mpch as
$50,000.00 may be available for the remodeling.
Finance - Councilman Homuth reported all claims have been audited and
all approved with the exception of the claim of E. E. Christopherson in the
amount of $60.00 for three trips to Helena to attend meetings concerning
Police Retirement, Councilman Homuth moved acceptance of the Finance Com-
mittee Report. Seconded byltbuncilman W. Roberts and carried.
Triangle at the Hacienda - Councilman M. Roberts reported the Committee
has had a meeting, but will meet again before submitting a report.

Councilman Roche moved acceptance of the City Official Reports.
Seconded by Councilman W. Roberts and carried.

Councilman W. Roberts moved bids be awarded to the low bidder in each
category. Seconded by Councilman Bjorneby and carried.
Councilman W. Roberts moved the City Clerk be authorized to call for
bids for Liability Insurance. Seconded by Councilman Bjorneby and carried.
Addressing the Council:
Police Chief Christopherson reported that the traffic lights on Idaho
Streets were still malfunctioning a great deal and caused some traffic prob-
lems.
Councilman Roche moved the warrant in payment of the C. Powell Electric
claim be withheld. Seconded by Councilman W. Roberts and carried.
Correspondence:
A letter was received from the Air Force offering obsolete aircaaft to
the City, providing the City pays transportation charges and accepts respon-
sibility for aircaaft. The Council members agreed the offer should be re-
fused and the letter referred to the Chamber of Commerce.
A letter from Police Chief Christopherson was read requesting that Ted
W. Waggoner be confirmed as Assistant Police Chef. Councilman W. Roberts
moved the letter requesting the 6onfirmation of Ted W. Waggoner as Assistant
Police Chief be tabled until May 1, 1967. Seconded by Councilman Bjorneby
and carried.

A letter was received from the City Treasurer requesting the transfer
of the following funds:
$850.00 from SID 294 Investment Acc't. to 294 Checking Acc't.
$387.00 from SID 294 Savings Acc't. to SID 29f Checking Acc't.' to pay
warrants due.
Councilman Roche moved City Treasurer be authorized to transfer $850.00
from SID 294 Investment Acc't. to 294 Checking Acc't, and $387.00 from SID
294 Savings Acc't. to SID 294 Checking Acc't. Seconded by Councilman W.
Roberts and carried.

Councilman Bjorneby moved approval of bonds. Seconded by Councilman W.
Roberts and carried.
Councilman Roche moved the Park Department be authorized to purchase 12
tables and 10 grills. Seconded by Councilman W. Roberts and carried.
Councilman W. Roberts moved for adjournment. Seconded by Councilman
O'Brien and carried.
