Councilman Miron moved action be deferred to the Special Meeting of March 12, 1973. Seconded by Councilman Schwartz. Carried. ADDRESSINC THE COUNCIL Mr. Patrick Springer, representing 4 B19 Restaurants, owners of the Red Lion Supper Club, discussed the cash in lien of park land requirement and requested the council reconsider and change the requirement from 1/9th to 1/12th and recommended the council set a policy on this requirement in regard to commercial property as opposed to residential property. Councilman Schwarts reported that the annexation committee policy was to require 1/9th on residential and commercial property with commercial property of 5 acres and over, 1/12 would be required. Action on the request to be taken up during committee reports. COMMITTEE REPORTS Safety . Councilman Thomas reported the committee recommends and Councilman Thomas moved the Police Department be allowed to employ vacation men. Seconded by Councilman Daley. Carried. Councilman Thomas reported the request of the Fire DeperCmen1 to approve Fire Chief Peters and Captain Bob Woodland to travel to Chicago to transport now fire truck (cbasts) to plena. The total estimated cost of the trip $571.00 of which Manion Is furnishing $371.00. Councilman Theme moved two men from the Fire Department be authorised to make the trip to transport the truck. Seconded by Councilman Miron. Discussion on motion • Could two men be spared from the depastmI - would other fieemen be repivlmg cvun- time pay to cover their shifts - safer for two man to make trip - opportunity to check out truck - opportunity to see am (ladder) equipment. In order to discuss its February 13 recommendation, the Board adopted a motion to reconsider the action taken at said meeting. After considerable discussion, the Board adopted the following motion: "That the Kalispell City -County Planning Board recommends -to the Kalispell City Council the annexation of Clements Addition and that in the future the City Council and Planning Board take into consideration the benefit of annexing to the City and avoid fragmentary annexation." The above action taken by the Planning Board is not necessarily in the interests of good planning or proper extension of city limit boundaries, but Is merely in recognition of an obligation the'Mayor and the city officials felt was owed to Mr. Clements in order to avoid an injustice to Mr. Clements. Parking Motor - Counellmsa Hopp reported that a request had been received for an additional 26 minute speed eater on 2nd Street West at the space whora,Blahes Shoe Repair has bed a reserved space. The committee recommends the reserved space be replaced with a 2 hour motor. Councilmen Happ moved the request for a second speed meter be denied and a 2 how meter be installed is place of the Blake Shoe Repair reserved spece. Seconded by Counollmn O'Brien. Carried. Filing for office - City -County Meeting - Water hookup inspections . Animal Control Councilman Mist reported the dates for filing for city office as March 5th through 5 P.M. on March 19th and the filing fees more as follows: Mayor $101.63 Police Judge $ 56.13 City Treasurer 67.00 Couaetimen 16.53 The seat meeting of the Cities and Canty will be March 26th at now at He ssey's Steak House.
