Attached please find specifications for new dump trucks.
If we are awarded this bid tonight. 2 trucks will be
shipped tomorrow, and the other 3 the 26th. We should
be able to deliver the first two on or before May 8th,
and the other 3 on or before May 15th. We will deliver
these 5 trucks f.o.b. Kalispell for a total of $36,000.00
the city to furnish tax exemption certificates.

Councilmen Miron moved bids be referred to Street & Alley committee with power
to act. Seconded by Councilman Rapp. Carried. Councilman Rapp announced the
committee would meet immediately after adjournment.
Water Well Maintenance .
Superintendent Lauterjung reported that he had been contacts4 by Layne Minnesota
Company Who will be sending a well pump service work crew throughout a large
area. Records show the Armory and Depot Park pumps have.not been serviced since
1964. Approximate cost would be $3,000.00. Councilman M1ron moved Superintendent
Lauterjung beauthorized to contract with Layne'Minemseta Company to service.,"
pumps. Seconded by Councilman .Daley. . Carried."
Water Superintendent LautesJning reported a letter had been vecaived from Morrison.
Maierle Engineering firm concerning sell tests at new Secondary Sewerage Treatment
Plant site. Several test holes were dug about 12 or 13 feet deep. The clay
samples were tested and the engineering firm axpressed,concern about base for
foundation on this site without a complete study by'their foundation committee:
Approximate cost would be $3,652.00. Councilman Sehwarts, experienced with
tests of this kind, explained that it Would be well worth the cost. Superintendent
Lauterjung stated that this 'kind of test was an sligible cost of project under
state grant. Councilman Miron.moved soil study for'sacomdaiy sewerage treatmeaf
plant site be authorised. Seconded by.Counailman Schwartz. Carried.

At the special meeting of the Kalispell City -County Planning Board hegd
Tuesday, April. 18, 192, the Board reviewed the peeltion for annexation of
two tnmCI dC Ground owned by Elmer A. and Nadine C. Absolonson. The fol-
lowing,zuotlen:was approved,
"That the Kalispell City -County Planning Board recommend to the City Council that the annexation of a strip of ground east of 2 O ^p

U.S. Highway 93 and south of Park View Terrace Addition owned
by Elmer Absalonson be approved subject to:
1. A 51' dedication to the public for roadway purposes extending
from U.S. Highway 93 east approximately 108' to the east
property line of the tract requested for annexation; said
street should be located approximately 350' north of the south
line of said tract;
2.. The dedication of a 15' access road along the east line of the
northern tract created by the recommended 51' street, said
access road to connect to Indian Trail Road on the north. Ac-
cess then to the property should be only from this dedication
and not from U.S. Highway 93;
3• When the property to the east of this annexation is developed,
15', should be dedicated by the owner, thereby providing a 30'
marginal access road which should be the sole access to that
land joining U.S. 93 and would control access on U.S. 93•"
See Exhibit "A" for the location.of the ,two recommended dedications.

The Board's purpose for the recommendation set out above are twofold. One,
dedication of the 51' street would provide access to property to the east of
the proposed annexation, and would also provide access to the southern tract
created by the proposed dedication. Second, the access road has been recom-
mended as a safety measure in order to protect vehicles driving north and
south on U.S. 93 and those vehicles, which without a marginal access road,
would be entering and leaving the highway at points along the highway within
the tract.
The Board's recommendation is submitted to your body for your consideration.

Mr. Abssolonson objected to the recommendation and report was referred to annexation
committee for further study.
Co mcilosn.Thomas reported that the safety committee would be considering a request
from Fire Chief Peters for hiring one more firemen." The request comes because the
Insurance Services Office of Montana_ states theRalispell Fire Departmeat is short
one mom for required efficiency.
Councilmen Hopp moved adoption of Resolution No. 2663 A Resolution Ordering the
Installation of Curbing in certain areas of the City (both sides of 4th Ave. E. N.
from Burlington Northern Railroad one block north and both sides of 4th Ave. East
from Burlington Northern Railroad one block south,ples Block 22, List 6 on,4t% Ave.
Last North and,east side of 4th Ave. East from Center Street to Railway right -
of -ray. Seconded by Councilman Thomas. Roll Call Veto. All voted aye.

Councilman Schwartz reported that the annexation committee had given permission
to gave a house from behind Four Seasons Motel to/ 9th Avenue pest.

TUC REGULAR MEETING OF THE KALISPELL CITY COUNCIL WAS HELD MAY 1, 1972 IN THE
COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF CITY HALL AT 7:30 P. M. MAYOR BJORNEBY PRESIDED. ALL
COUNCILMEN PRESENT.
The minutes of the regular council meeting of April IOth were read. Councilmen
O'Brien moved approval of the minutes as read. Seconded by Councilman Thus.
Carried.
The minutes of the special council meeting of April 19th were read. Councilman
Miron moved approval of the minutes as corrected. Seconded by Councilman Thomas.
Carried.
ADDRESSING THE COUNCIL
Mr. Fred Posey, Principal Russell School, representing the Russell School PTA
made requests andrecommendationsregarding crosswalk at Highway 93 - sidewalk
from 2nd. Ave. H. N. to Highway 93 . crosswalk Wyoming Street - Adult crossing
supervisor, who should be deputized.
Mr. Posey reported thattheState Highway Department had assured support of -the
City Council in action on these recommendations and informed the Mayor and
Council that the highway department is to install a second set of blinker lights
at the school crossing on Highway 93. Mayor Bjorneby referred the recommendations
and requests.to the Safety Committee for consideration and study.
Mr. Laois McBride, operator Maverick self service gasoline station and self.
service car wash, 1319 South Main requested permission to place trailer house
for office and residence.at the self service gasoline and oar wash. Directed --
to contact the Board of Adjustment with request.
Mr. Harold Frisnegger, 384 6th Ave, W. N., requested the city park in the area
be used for children. Representatives of the girls' softball informed the
council that they had been using this park for softball practice. Following
discussion it was suggested the girls softball teams be allowed to use the base.
