O'Brien ShermanZ/ Rogers Everit A. Sliter^._ . Donahue 230 Mayor Bjorneby called the meeting to order and informed the council that Mr. Simmons was desirous of being authorized to have city water and sewer services and wished to be assured of this at this time as he wished to order materials for his project so that shipment could be made before weight restrictions were placed on highways, Councilman Schwartz reported meeting with County Commissioners, regarding the annexation of the county road which would make Simmons' property contiguous to the City and the reluctance of the commissioners to submit this road for annexation to the City. Councilman Sliter reported that the problem is a safety hazard located on a triangular piece of property owned by Mr. Hendrickson. The County wishes to have this hazard (obstruction of vision of intersecting traffic) taken care of before they will agree to the annexation of the road. Councilman Slater suggested the County, the City, the Golf Course Association, and Mr. Simmons share the cost of the solution. Councilman Sliter reported that officers of the golf association had agreed the association would share in this cost, as the reluctance of the commissioners to submit the county roadway for annexation is due, at least in part, to the closure of the Golf Course Road by the city. Councilman Miron stated that it was of prime importance that the Simmons property be in the city prior to granting city water and sewer service. Councilman Thomas reported that he felt the council should be fair to every- body and that the city council should make peace with the county commissioners. Mayor Bjorneby reported that he felt it would be possible to solve the problem of the road hazard and stay on city property (not have to do any work on private property). Councilman Thomas reported that he had just contacted Joe DeLong, Commissioner, by telephone, and the county commissioners will meet with the city council I Wednesday, March 1st to resolve the problem. Councilman Sliter moved adjournment. Seconded by Councilman Miron. Carried. Minutes read and approved March 6, 1972. I
