MAYOR BJORNEBY PRESIDED. COUNCILMEN ROGERS AND THOMAS ABSENT.
Councilman Schwartz moved adoption of Resolution No. 2800, A Resolution of
Intention to create SID No. 313. Seconded by Councilman Miron. Roll Call Vote.
All voted aye.
Councilman Schwartz moved the Kalispell City Council recommend the Kalispell
Board of Adjustment deny the request for zoning variance for lots 1, 2, 3, 4,
and part of 5 of Block 15, Western Addition to Kalispell, Montana, for the
operation of a grocery stores as requested by Mr. Conrad Peterson. Seconded by
Councilman Miron. Carried.
Councilman Schwartz moved adoption of a Resolution of Intention to abandon and
discontinue that portion of llth Avenue West, north of 7th Street West. Seconded
by Councilman Miron. City Attorney Donahue informed the council that it was
necessary that a petition requesting closure of this street should be filed prior
to council action. Councilman Miron withdrew second. Councilman Schwartz
withdrew motion.
Councilman Daley - Employment Committee - The committee recommends the four
men submitted by Chief of Police Waggener be approved for hiring. Phillip N.
Fisher and Steven Klingler are recommended for appointment for a six month
probationary period effective June 1, 1971. laird A. Snyder and Steven Frye be
approved for future employment. Councilman Daley moved adoption of the
employment committee report. Seconded by Councilman Miron. Carried.
Water Superintendent Iauterjung requested the council authorize someone to
contact engineering firms to obtain a cost estimate for conducting a Comprehensive
Water 6 Sewer Study. Councilman Miron moved Water Superintendent lauterjung be
authorized to contact engineering firms to obtain cost estimates for Comprehensive
Water 6 Sewer Study. Seconded by Councilman Daley. Carried.
Councilman Schwartz moved adjournment. Seconded by Councilman Daley. Carried.
