GUESTS: James Freyholtz, Montana Department of Transportation
HEAR THE PUBLIC: None.
PERFORMANCE BOND REMINDERS: None.
OLD BUSINESS: School District 5 Central Kitchen — 205 Northwest Lane. This is a 5,400 sq.
ft. single -story, kitchen -only building. The food will be delivered out to the various schools. Parker
will be getting his plans review comments out to them soon. This will be on the agenda for next
week.
Depratu — Glacier Volkswagen—11,000 sq. ft. building, non-sprinklered. Sorensen spoke with Kim
Larsen recently, and this project is on hold for now. This will be on the agenda for next week.
The River Church — 1275 Hwy 2 West; convert existing movie theaters into a church building.
They will be restriping their parking lot. They will be adding additional landscaping in the front, and
putting in new stairs and sidewalks in the front and back through the landscaping. Their parking
counts are good. They will be adding a handicapped space and changing their lighting to make it
"dark skies" compliant. Parker will check their floor changes to be sure they are compliant. This is
approved through Site Review.
NEW BUSINESS: None.
PLANNING OFFICE ITEMS —The following two projects went to the Planning Board Meeting
last Tuesday. There will be no meeting in September.
Bright View Subdivision (Glacier Eye Clinic) — board recommended approval
Pediatric Dental Office — The request for a zone change on North Meridian from R4 to B 1 for a
pediatric dental office also received a recommendation of approval.
OTHER REPORTS: Spring Prairie Phase II — Contractor asked Crowley if Public Works
requires truncated domes on their sidewalks ramps within the parking lot. This is private property so
they will need to decide either way and have their engineer certify/sign-off on this.
Discussion was held regarding ADA Standards and who enforces the requirements. The Building
Department goes by the standards of the ANSI (American National Standards Institute) as
requirements, but no one can enforce it at the City level.
Ashley Heights Sound Wall — LeClair received a letter from Hubert Turner. He states that they will
have the portion of the wall up behind lots 924 and 925 by November 1st, and complete the other
walls for the other houses next year which is consistent with what the approval is. LeClair will
contact them to clarify exactly where the walls will be located. Their intent is to start at the north and
work their way south.
There is a 10-foot easement that stops at the subdivision line, and then there is a 20- or 30- foot gap
of grass to the trail. There will be a gap in the wall where the easement comes through but we may
have to do something else to get sidewalk or path down to the trail so that the neighborhood can
actually access it. The trail was not in when Ashley Heights was platted.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:20 a.m.
