BE IT RESOLVL4M BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF KALISPELLt, MONTANA:
Section 1. That It is the intention of the City
W
ouncil of the City of Kalispell to create a special Improvement
districtl hereby designated as Special Improvement District No* 167,
and the boundaries of said proposed special improvement district
are hereby declared to be as follows: Beginning at the point
of intersection of the center line of the alley in block one
hundred fifty-three with the north side of the railway right of
Wayj thence proceeding northerly along �he center line of said
alley of said block one fifty-three to an intersection with the
center line of Montana Street; thence westerly along the
center line of Montana Street to an intersection with the west
boundary line of the city; thence north along such boundary
line to an intersection with the south side of lot three of
block one hundred fifty; thence easterly along said south
side of said lot three produced to an intersection with the
center line of Seventh Avenue West; thence northerly along
the center line of said Seventh Avenue West to an intersection
with the south side produced of lot ten., of block one hundred
forty-eight; thence easterly along said south side of said
lot ten produced of block one hundred forty-eight to an inter-
section with the center line of the alley through block five;
thence northerly along the center 11ne of said alley to the
center of block two hUhdred twenty-eight; thence easterly
to the center of block two hundred twenty-nine; thence southerly
along the center line of the alley in said block two hundred
twenty-nine to an intersection wi th the center line of Washington
Street; thence easterly along the center line of TWashington
Street to an intersection with the -center line ofthe alley in
block two hundred twenty produced; thence northerly along the
center line of said alley to the center of block two hundred
twenty-three; thence easterly along the south side produced
of lot three in block two hundred twenty-three to the east side
of block two Duncan Addition, said point. being in a southerly
direction one hundred fifty feet from the northeast corrier df
said block two; thence southerly along the east side of said
block two to an intersection with the cen ter -line of Oregon
Street; thence westerly along the center 11 ne of Oregon
Street to an intersection with the center line of the alley'in
blocks two and nine, Duncan Addltion;, thende southerly along
the center line of said alley to an intersection with the center
line of Washington Street; thence westerly along the center
line of Washington Street to an intersection with the center line
of Seventh Avenue East; thence southerly along the center line
of said. Seventh Avenue East one hundred eighty-three 'feet; thence
westerly to the center of the North Si de Public School block;
thence southerly to an int6rsection with the south side of said
North Side rublic School block, which point Of intersection is
one hundred fifty feet easterly from the southwest corner af said
block; thence westerly along the south side of said block to
an intersection with the center 11ne of Fifth Avenu . e Eaet; thence
westerly along the north side of Idaho Street to an Intersection
with the center line produced of the alley in block one; thence
southerly along the center line of said alley produced to an in-
tersection with the south side of block,twenty-one; thence along
the south side produced of block twenty-one to -an intersection
with the center line.of the alley in block twenty-two; thence
northerly along the center line of said alley to an intersection
with the center line of Idaho Street; thence westerly along the
center line of said Idaho Street to an intersection with the center

way to an intersection with the center line of the alley in
block twenty-four; thence northerly along the center line of

the center line of Montana Street; thence westerly along the
center line of Montana Street to an intersection with the
center line of First Avenue East; thence southerly along the
center line of said First Avenue East one hundred eighty-three
feet; thence westerly along the south side produced of lots
six,, in block twenty-five to an intersection with the center
line of the alley in block twenty-six; thence northerly along
the center line of said alley to an intersection with the
center line of Idaho Street; thence westerly along the center
line of ldaho.Street to an intersection with th e center line
of th e alley through blocks eleven and thirty produced; thence
southerly along the center line of said alley to an intersection
with the north side of the railway right of way; thence westerly
along the north side of said right of way to the point of be..
ginning; such -being the district hereby declared by the City
Council to be benefited by the contemplated improvements herein
mentioned and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses
thereof; and such improvements, in the opinion of the City
Counicil, being of 'more than local or ordinary public benefit,
Section 2. That the general character of the im�
provements to be.made in said proposed Special Improvement Dis-
triet i's as followsp to. -Wit: The construction of concrete
cross walks at each avenue and street intersection and at each
street and alley intersection within the boundaries of the pro-
posed districts.
Section 3. That the approximate cost of said im-

Section 4. That the entire cost and expense of
such improvements, including street and alley intersections,,
shall be assessed against the entire district, each lot or
parcel of land within such district to be assessed for that
part of the whole cost which its area bears to the'area of
the entire district exclus ive of streets, alleys and public
places; provided that where any of the work hereiri provided
for is already done upon a street or avenue to the official
grade and Is in a condition satisfac-tory to the.City Engineer,
such worX already done is hereby excepted from the work pro-
vided for herein and in case such work already done has.been
,done at the expense of the -owner or owners of any 16t or lots
in a block fronting upon said excepted work the assessment
against such 10t or lots shall be reduced to the extent of
the cost of constructing such excepted work in this proceeding.
Section 5. That said assessment shall be paid
for in three equal annual installments hereby extended over a
period of three years. Said assessment shall constit�ite a fund
to be known as Special Improvement District Fund No. 167.
Section 6. That said improvements shall be paid
for in Special Improve),ment District Coupon Warrants issued
against said district in the sum of $100.00 each, bearing inter:-
est at 6 per cent per annum from the date,of registration until
called for redemption or paid in full, interest payable annua Ily
on the first day of January of each year, payable three years
from date and redeemable at any time there are�funds to the credit
of such Improvement District Fund available therefor; the int-
erest coupons attached to such warrants to bear the fac-simile
signatur.es of the Mayor and Clerk.
Section 7. That on the f if th day of July 9 1915 t at
the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Kalispell,
Montana., at 7:30 o'clock p. m., a regular meeting, the City
Council will hear and pass upon all protests that may be made
against themaking of such improvements or the creation of
such district,
Section 8. The City Clerk Is hereby authorized
and directed,to give the proper notice of the passage of this
resolution by publication and mailing as required by law, such
publication -to be made in the Daily Inter Lake, a daily news-,
paper published in the City of Kalispell.
