MEETING HELD March 12, 2012 --- 4:00 p.m.

Street Tree Retreat — March 30th & 31"
The group reviewed the preparations for the Street Tree Retreat at Central School Museum and
Lone Pine. The following items were noted:
• David Jones has 9 registrations, not counting the Kalispell board members. David is
going to send out the agenda and registrations forms again.
• Lisa will check her computer for a list of the Choteau attendees, so Bette and Andrea can
send handwritten invites. She will email this out to members if she has it.
• Rebecca reminded Dave to get her bio's on speakers for her introductions.
• David has made the necessary deposits at Central School and with caterers Bonelli's.
• Rebecca has caterers (including no -host bar) in place for Central School event.
• Members will need to be at Central School Museum on Friday at 5:30 for table set up and
will need to help break down and clean up after the event.
• Lisa will phone Lone Pine to check on exactly what AV equipment is available to
minimize duplicate hauling of equipment by speakers and those wishing to do powerpoint
presentations.
• Members reviewed the shopping list. David and Bette will meet on March 30th to
complete Costco shopping run. Lisa will shop for the odds and ends and smaller items.
• The group reviewed the file folders participants will receive and discussed other contents
they feel are necessary.
• Rebecca spoke with the Chamber of Commerce who has agreed to provide "swag" bags
with goodies from downtown businesses for participants.
Recycling Drive — April le
Bette has scheduled the Trees to Paper To Trees recycling drive with the fairgrounds for April
14th, 2012, 9 am to 3 pm. Bette has contacted the high school volunteers and the Daily Interlake.
Additionally she will schedule with Pacific Recycling.
Lisa noted it is on the Flathead County website calendar of events. Lisa has also updated the
City of Kalispell website calendar of events and provided the information on the Parks
Department Urban Forestry page. Clifford Kip of Montana Conservation Corp has been
informed of the date, in case his staff wishes to volunteer and help. Lisa will also notify the
Master Gardeners students who may want to put in their required community service hours.
Parks staff will complete the necessary work orders for getting the banner in place on the
fairgrounds fence and the recycling trailer, cones, signs and truck. Preparations will be finalized
at the April meeting.
Tree City USA Flag Presentation and Arbor Day Proclamation — April I
Board members will be presenting the Tree City USA flag and reading the Arbor Day
proclamation at the city council meeting on April 16th, 2012 at 7 p.m. Members will split up the
duties of reading and presenting.
Arbor Day — April 27�h
Bette has contacted and scheduled the Arbor Day Celebration and tree planting at Edgerton
school, with two — 3rd grade classrooms. Lisa gave Bette items ordered for use by the teachers in
the classroom. Preparations will be finalized at the April meeting.
There was no other business and the meeting adjourned at 4:37 p.m.
