I called the Airport manager yesterday and told him they are flying in low from all directions to land at our city airport. He say's that's ok, I said no it's not, the residents do not want them doing that. We want them to fly in on the landing pattern route that was set up for landing at this airport. He said that was only for pilots doing touch and go's. So I said , are you telling me an aircraft can fly and land into our untowered airport from any direction it chooses? He said YES. Then I said why do we have a LANDING PATTERN ROUTE then? Again he said for pilots only doing touch and go's. Can you believe that? What else is he telling the general public that calls into him? Again I tell him that they are not exiting the airport area on the Fly Neighborly Route. He said he wasn't at the airport to verify that. Then he go's on to tell me that we are going to be buying some kind of light set up that guides aircraft into our airport day and night. And go's on explaining how it works, like it's a done deal and it's going in sometime soon. Who's paying for this? Who has OK such a deal? I've been involved with this airport thing for some time, and I haven't heard of it being brought up at any council meetings. Like I said, what else is he telling the general public? We do not want planes flying in at all hours of the night!!! Some one down there at city hall better fill this guy in on what the residents and taxpayer have told you to do with this airport. Just today I watched four aircraft in one hour take off to the north and fly right over the westside, main street and the eastside of town. We said NO to that. And we expect our Mayor, Council Members and City Manager to make sure the Airport manager that we pay 70K a year enforce our rules. And someone needs to advise our airport manager what a Airport Landing Pattern is. City Manage, this needs addressed at a public council meeting. We the people and residents and tax payers want control and rules followed at our City Airport. Is there something about that statement that is hard to understand? Summer is here, it's just going to get worse, got to nip it in the bud NOW. If you all can't do the wants and needs of the home owners and taxpayers and residents of this city and follow our rules, we need to close this airport or move it. It's just getting to out of hand for being so close to town. Radio, TV, News Papers, investigate this, the people you report to are speaking out and nobody is listening.
