Mountain Standard Time Accident Witness: Jessie Ronseth 1-406-257-3875 NTSB requested assistance from me, as the Airport Manager, in their investigation of the accident that occurred at 2:30 P.M. this afternoon. The assistance is in the form of the following: 1. FAA personnel from the Helena FSDO will arrive before noon on the 9' of July to look at the wreckage. Meet and assist them where ever possible. 2. Check the site for the following items: a. Make sure engine is intact and note any holes in engine cowling. b. Check seat belts and shoulder harnesses stowed or in use mode. c. Pick up any log books or maintenance records at the site. d. Check ELT if it is installed, to make sure it is disconnected so it won't go off. Remove and hold for NTSB. e. Note anything unusual about the aircraft. Cause of fire is a concern. 3. When the FAA is finished, call NTSB at number above and get permission to recover the aircraft to a hangar on the airport. 4. Aircraft is a 1966 Cessna 150 owned by Jerry L. Whealon of Polson, Montana. 5. Make arrangements to recover the wreckage and transport it to a hangar site on the airport. 6. FAA should make contact with responsible owner or someone with financial interest in the aircraft to report to their insurance agency the removal costs and what to do with the wreckage after the NTSB is finished with it. Removal and storage costs. 7. Contacted the Sheriff s Department, (Meehan) to ask for his assistance. He said he had deputies on the wreckage until 4:30 P.M. on the 9' of July.
