STUDY THE DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT AND LOCATION OF A COMMUNITY
RECREATION CENTER WITHIN THE CITY AND TO MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS
TO THE CITY COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, based upon citizen comments to City Council, there is a demand for a community
recreation center in the City of Kalispell that will provide a venue for a range of
community activities; and
WHEREAS, the extent of the demand and range of activities, as well as the feasibility of the
center to meet these needs should be explored further by those citizens who are
seeking the services the center would provide; and
WHEREAS, it would be in the best interests of the City for the City Council to form an ad hoc
citizen's advisory committee to study the design, development and location of a
community recreation center within the city and to make recommendations to
City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. An ad hoc citizen's advisory committee to study the design, development
and location of a community recreation center within the city shall be
formedand shall make recommendations to City Council. The committee
shall consist of a maximum of thirteen city residents representing seniors,
teens, downtown businesspersons and other interested city residents.
Notice of the formation of the committee shall be published and
statements of interest shall be invited to be submitted to the City Clerk.
The Mayor, with Council's consent, shall appoint the committee at the
September 20, 2005 regular council meeting.
