A RESOLUTION TO SET THE CITY OF KALISPELL FEES ASSOCIATED WITH BUILDING
PERMITS, ZONING ADMINISTRATION, FIRE PREVENTION AND SITE REVIEW TO BE
EFFECTIVE ON JULY 6, 2005.
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 1537, passed on second reading on this date, the Kalispell City Council
adopted the 1997 Uniform Building Code fee schedule to establish the building permit
fees or building code inspection services allowed under the UBC; and
WHEREAS, based upon projections for building activity during the fiscal year 2005-2006, staff of the
City Building department and the City Manager have determined that the costs and
expenses of that department can be maintained by establishing a building permit fee of
33% of the building base fee allowed as well as the plan check fee allowed by the 1.997
UBC fee schedule; and
WHEREAS, the City also provides the services to the community of zoning administration, fire
prevention and site reviews which services experience the same level of activity as the
building department; and
WHEREAS, based upon projections for building activity during the fiscal year 2005-2006, staff of the
fire department, zoning administration, planning and the City Manager have determined
that the costs and expenses of those services provided can be maintained by establishing a
zoning administration fee of 27% of the building base fee allowed by the 1997 UBC fee
schedule; establishing a fire prevention services fee of 28% of the building base fee
allowed by the 1997 UBC fee schedule; and establishing a site review fee of 12% of the
building base fee allowed by the 1997 UBC fee schedule.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I.The fee schedule for building permits, zoning administration, fire prevention
services and site review shall be as follows:
Building Permit Fee
Zoning Administration Fee
Fire Prevention Services Fee
Site Review Fee
33°l 1997 UBC Base Fee
27% 1997 UBC Base Fee
28% 1997 UBC Base Fee
12% 1997 UBC Base Fee
Plan Check Fee shall be as allowed by 1997 UBC fee schedule.
SECTION II. This fee schedule shall become effective July 6, 2005 and shall remain effective
until later amended or repealed.
