Gentlemen:
I have attached a couple of email communications that we have had with Caleb Soptelean recently. I am forwarding this on to you for your information purposes only. Mr. Soptelean set
a tone with his communication with us early on that I feel is unnecessarily antagonistic and unprofessional. His first demand was to the City Manager and as a general FOIA request
regarding the City Airport. He states, "P.S. -- Since I've been told that you are generally aware of these issues, I will not sit on this story indefinitely." I'm not certain why
he added this as he has no history with the City and we have always been very prompt with any request from the media. Mr. Soptelean was given a considerable amount of material to cover
his request. He did call me with some follow-up questions which I felt were perfectly appropriate and I spent some time with him on the telephone trying to help him get a grasp on
a fairly complicated issue with a great deal of history. The second string of emails is his response to our telephone conversation. Perhaps it is just his communication style but
I don't personally appreciate the tone in which it is delivered. I always try to treat everyone I meet with the dignity and respect they are due and I will continue to do so with Mr.
Soptelean. I thought you should be aware that he has some work to do in this area of his professional development.
