6. SECTION 323115 – VERTICAL PIVOT GATE
Replace Part 2 - PRODUCTS, 2.1 MANUFACTURED UNIT through 2.2 COMPONENTS
with the following:
2.1 MANUFACTURED UNIT
A. Vertical Pivot Gate System: Ideal Mfg., Inc./TILT-A-WAY Model DCM-25.
2.2 COMPONENTS
A. Gear Motor Unit: 1/2 HP 24V DC TENV motor, 1800 RPM, full load amps 13.5,
continuous duty, right angle.
1. Gear motor will be all as one unit with lubricating fluid.
2. The gear motor will be designed to keep the gate locked in the closed
position, keeping any person from lifting the gate open when it is in the
closed position.
3. Pedestal Frame: Welded construction with removable outer skin of cross
break 16 gauge aluminum panels.
4. Inspection Door Hardware: Stainless steel continuous hinges and heavy-
duty lockable pull down catches to hold inspection door shut.
5. Power: 115 Volt AC 24 Volt DC battery back up [24 Volt DC gear motor
and control board] [115 Volt AC for battery charger and optional
accessories]. Battery supplied by installer, or owner. Total gate system
requires 20-amp minimum service, with no more than 3% drop in
voltage, while gate is in operation. (FOR WIRE SIZE: CONSULT
LOCAL ELECTRICAL CODE.)
6. Soft stop on both ends.
7. Gear Motor will move the barrier from the closed position to open
position, and open position to closed position in approximately 10 to 12
seconds each direction.
B. Gate actuating System: Number 40 Roller Chain and Sprockets.
1. Hardened teeth sprocket, adjustable magnetic switch stops on each end
of travel.
2. Gear Motor Fluid: Manufacturer’s standard, factory checked, filled, and
tested.
C. Balance System: System designed to allow barrier to be hand raised and to be
hand lowered with 12 to 15 pounds of pressure, consisting of manufacturer’s
standard cables, sheaves, sealed cam yoke roller bearings, and tension springs
pulled in a straight line.
1. Safety Control Switch: Provide built-in safety control switch capable of
stopping barrier in any position should balance system fail.
2. Testing: Factory test and adjust balance system to ensure gate may be
manually raised and lowered with specified pressure.
3. Signage: Signage to be added to the gate barrier must be declared at the
time of order so the manufacturer can add the signs on the barrier,
to ensure Ideal Mfg. balances the barrier correctly at the time of
manufacturing.
D. Electrical System: Oversized rain tight enclosure housing electrical components
except limit switches, safety switches, and motor.
1. Wire: Oil and gasoline resistant.
2. Overload Protection: 20-amp fuse to protect motor.

3. Reversing Controller: Provide as required to operate gear motor.
4. Magnetic Switches: Adjustable magnetic limit switches capable of
stopping barrier at each end of travel.
5. Logic Board: Programmable logic board with manufacturer’s full range
of available functions.
a. Built in Amp Meter.
b. Over current protection against entrapment.
c. Battery Charger.
d. Cycle Counter.
e. Built in 7-day programmable timer.
f. LCD trouble shooting diagnostic screen.
g. Pre wired for safety, and free exit loop.
h. Pre wired for photo eye.
i. Pre wired for radio receiver.
j. Pre wired for master slave.
6. All gates are equipped with a dry contactor to accommodate all types of
access equipment
8. Options:
a. Cold Weather Package: (required in areas where the temperature
drops to less than 35° F).
b. Stanchion: (this is for the free end of the gate).
c. Loop Detectors:
1) Provide detector system to allow free exit/safety, safety or close
gate operation; system to be factory wired inside electrical box
and tested.
2) Loops shall be made of 14AWG wire.
3) Wire shall be UL 493 certified designed for a direct burial
application.
4) Loops shall be a kit by a single source manufacturer.
5) Loops shall be BD Loops, or approved equal.
d. Reversing Edge: Provide manufacturers standard reversing edge
system.
e. Photo Eye: Used as a form of safety
f. Ice Scrapers: (for cable sheaves).
g. Access Control Systems:
1) A programmable keyless entry / keypad shall be installed and
function as the entry / ingress device. The keypad shall be
mounted on a single height pedestal.
2) Five (5) handheld one button remote controls shall be provided
and function as the entry / ingress device.
7. SECTION 331613 – COMPOSITE ELEVATED WATER STORAGE
Part 1: GENERAL, 1.4 WARRANTY, A: Change “5-year” to “2-year”.

8. SECTION 407000 – PROCESS INSTRUMENTS
Revise Part 2: PRODUCTS, 2.3 INSTUMENT SPECIFICATIONS, E.2.f to read as follows:
Unit shall be HACH CLF10, or approved equal.
9. SECTION 224000 – PLUMBING FIXTURES
Revise Part 2: PRODUCTS, 2.4 HOSE VALVES/WALL HYDRANTS to read as follows:
A. Unit shall include a brass single globe valve with operator. Provide mounting plate,
integral hose rack, and ¾” NPT threaded inlet and outlet. Unit shall be SuperKlean 600M
Series, or approved equal.
10. SECTION 400567 – CONTROL VALVES
Under Part 2: PRODUCTS, replace paragraph E.4 with the following:
4. A parallel pressure pilot shall sense downstream pressure and open the valve fully should
downstream pressure fall below a pre-set minimum (61 psi at the 1 MG Elevated Tank
and 76 psi at the Sheepherder Control Valve Building) and close the valve should the
downstream pressure rise above the pre-set minimum.
Under Part 2: PRODUCTS, DELETE paragraph E.5:
Regarding Technical Specification 400567 – Control Valve Part 2 – Products, E. Function
The solenoid operated control valves located at the Sheepherder Control Valve Building and
the 1 MG Elevated Tank must be capable of electronically opening and closing based on
inputs received from the PLC. The contractor and valve manufacturer will not be responsible
for any system programming. The set points included as part of this specification are to
provide a general range of operation but will be field adjusted by the City’s software
integrator upon completion of construction.

11. SECTION 406113 – PROCESS CONTROL SYSTEM GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Under Part 1 - GENERAL; DELETE the paragraph 1.2.B and replace with the following.
B. Qualifications:
1. System Integrator:
a. Experience:
1) Have satisfactorily provided control system integration for a
minimum of five projects of similar magnitude and function.
b. Qualification:
1) Regularly engaged in the design and the installation of process
control and instrumentation systems and their associated subsystems
as they are applied to the municipal water and wastewater industry.
2) Maintains a permanent, fully staffed and equipped service facility
within 400 miles of the project site with full time employees capable
of designing, documenting, fabricating, installing, calibrating,
programming, configuring, providing training services, and testing
the systems specified herein.
3) Capable of responding to on-site problems within12 hours of notice.
Provide an on-site response within 12 hours of notification starting at
two months before scheduled startup to two months after startup
completion.
12. SECTION 460550 – SUBMERSIBLE WELL PUMP AND APPURTENANCES
Delete Technical Specification 264313 in its entirety. The Schedule 2 improvements will now
include a vertical turbine well pump housed in a 8’ x 12’ pump house and all associated
equipment as shown in the attached “A1” Construction Drawings.
13. SECTION 463300 – VERTICAL TURBINE WELL PUMPS
Replace Part 2 – PRODUCTS, 2.1 VERTICAL TURBINE WELL PUMPS, A. Manufacturer
and Model, 3. With the following:

The Schedule 2 vertical turbine well pump shall follow Technical Specification 463300.
14. SECTION 463342 – CHEMICAL FEED PUMPS
Replace PART 2 – MATERIALS, 2.1 CHEMICAL METERING SYSTEM COMPONENTS.
A. with the following:
A. A single chemical metering pump manufacturer will be responsible for supplying all
components of the metering pump feed system. The chlorination system shall be
ProMinent Fluid Controls Inc., The pump shall be chemically compatible with Sodium
Hypochlorite and include the following components:
1. Chemical Metering Pump.
2. Pump Inputs
a. Analog (4-20mA) speed command
b. Digital (on/off) run command
3. Outputs
a. Digital (on/off) run status
b. Digital (on/off) alarm status
c. Digital (on/off in-remote status
d. Analog (4-20mA) speed indication
When operating the chlorine metering pumps shall be capable of delivering the following:
1. Schedule 2: 500 gpm Well (At 1-MG Tank)
a. 0.02 gph of chlorine (minimum).
b. 0.20 gph of chlorine (maximum).
2. Schedule 3: Four Mile Drive Water Well
a. 0.06 gph of chlorine (minimum).
b. 0.62 gph of chlorine (maximum).
3. Schedule 4: North Main Well
a. 0.08 gph of chlorine (minimum).
b. 0.80 gph of chlorine (maximum).
APPENDIX A: WAGE RATES
15. Regarding Montana residence requirements for labor refer to Part N on page 5 of the Prevailing
Wage Rates which states the following:

The perimeter fence should be terminated at the entrance gates. The fence will not extend west
beyond the gates.

Chain Link Fence Details – Tension wire shall be installed along the bottom of the chain link
fence. A top rail shall be installed along the entire stretch of fence at all locations showing new
chain link fencing in the Construction Drawings. Delete note 10 and note 13. Installation of
grounding rods will not be required as part of this project.
18. SHEET C2-10
Improvement to Eagle Valley Ranch Rd have been completed. The Contractor will be
responsible for removal and replacement of curb and gutter, sidewalk, asphalt, landscaping,
and any other surface restoration necessary upon completion of the Water Main Alt 1 South
Connection.
19. SHEET C2-20
Delete Detail 1.
Replace Detail 2, Note 8 with the following:
8. 8” PRODUCTION CASING IS 8.625” OD WITH .322” WALL THICKNESS AND AN
ID OF 7.981”.

Provide for heat trace per notes on drawing M2-9 and specification section 404113 (Heat
Tracing Cable). Heat trace system shall be contractor/vendor designed. Power for the heat
trace system may come from either the 480VAC panelboard P1, or the 240VAC panelboard
P2.
21. SHEETS E2-6 and E2-7
A. The well pump/motor will now be 100HP vertical turbine – see mechanical sheets.
1) Upsize motor circuit protection components and VFD to serve 100HP motor.
Size per manufacturer’s recommendation.
2) Upsize conduit and conductors from the 480VAC panelboard at the Tank
electrical room to the Well Pump VFD panel, and from the VFD panel to the
100HP well pump.
3) Provide local disconnect at new well building for well pump motor.
a. Provide aux contact on local disconnect and wire back to Well Pump
VFD panel for use in shutting down VFD upon opening of local
disconnect.
4) Provide control wiring between Well Pump VFD panel and new well
building for control of added pump control valve and pre-lube systems.
B. Upsize generator to be 125KW.
C. Provide new “Mini-Power-Zone” combination transformer and load center at new well
building to service 240/120VAC lighting, receptacle and heating/ventilation components.
1) Mini-Power-Zone to be 15KVA with minimum 6 circuit load center.
