In 2019, with an effective date of July 1, 2020, the Kalispell City Council approved
Resolution No. 5954 renewing the Kalispell Tourism Business Improvement District
(TBID) for an additional ten years. The district's purpose is to promote tourism in and
around Kalispell, thereby helping to support and grow business opportunities for the
city's hotels and motels.
All hotels and motels with five (5) or more rooms are assessed $2.00 per occupied room
night. Stays by guests that are exempt from the transient occupancy or lodging facility
use tax are also exempt from the TBID assessments.
Ordinance No. 1833 re-established the TBID Board of Trustees. This Board governs the
operations of the district, including developing an annual work plan and budget which is
then approved by the Kalispell City Council.
