Consideration of Emergency Expenditure
Fire Department Ladder #1
Williams explained the ladder #1 waterway was damaged due to water
leaking between the pipes and freezing. It is out of service and
the emergency is getting the equipment repaired and back in service
as quickly as possible.
The waterway repair would cost $13,928.00.
The Fire Chief suggested as long as the mechanic is traveling to
the community to do the repair, there are 3 update items of work
that need to be performed, and would be performed by this mechanic.
Those items include the following:
Platform Leveling Kit $1,701.00
Aerial Hold Down Kit $ 764.00
Outrigger Pad Kit $1,288.00
$3,753.00
Williams felt it made sense to have the work done. The total cost
would be $17,681.00 which exceeds the $10,000 authority, requiring
the emergency nature of the motion. He suggested the amount come
from the general government and various other department budgets as
necessary.
Larson moved the council authorize the emergency expenditure of
$17,681.00 to get the aerial ladder truck back in operating
condition. The motion was seconded.
After discussion the motion carried unanimously with a vote.
