To Whom It May Concern:
Please support our fire department and our city by hiring more firefighter/Paramedics and ensuring that both stations
stay open 24/7. I live on the north end of town and always felt reassured that station 62 is much closer to our home
than the downtown station. I respect KFD and the hard-working men and women there. I’ve worked along side them
in the Emergency Department as an RN. I don’t think most of our city knows how long response times could
actually take in an emergency if there are enough people on shift, let alone if they’re is not. Please understand- as an
ER RN- every second counts in an emergency. I’m sure that’s true of fires as well. KFD should be well-funded and
shown how much we respect their willingness to care for us.
