RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION ON THE QUESTION OF
APPROVING A LEASE BETWEEN THE CITY OF KALISPELL AND THE KALISPELL
GOLF ASSOCIATION, TO BE HELD ON THE 412 DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1997 IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE CITY GENERAL ELECTION.
WHEREAS, the City of Kalispell owns, in trust, certain real
property within the corporate limits of the City,
commonly known and referred to as the Kalispell Municipal
Golf Course, and
WHEREAS, the City of Kalispell and the Kalispell Golf Association
have entered into a proposed lease agreement whereby the
Kalispell Golf Association leases said property from the
City for a period of 20 years in return for the City
receiving a share of the gross revenue from operation of
the course, and
WHEREAS, 57-5-4201, MCA requires that a lease of property, held in
trust for a specific purpose must be approved by the
electors of the city voting at an election called for
that purpose, as said election must be held in
conjunction with a regular or primary election, and
WHEREAS, November 4, 1997, is the next regularly scheduled
election for municipal officers of the City of Kalispell.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL, AS FOLLOWS:
.gRCTTON I. The City Council of the City of Kalispell does
hereby refer to the electors of the City of
Kalispell the proposal to lease the Kalispell
Municipal Golf Course to the Kalispell Golf
Association for a period of 20 years in
exchange for a share of gross profits.
SECTION II. That the proposal shall be submitted to the
electors of the City at the City General
Election to be held on November 4, 1997.

That the issue presented to the electors at"
said election shall be in the form set forth
in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and for
purpose of this Resolution made a part hereof.
SECTION IV. That the City Clerk of Council and the City
Attorney are hereby directed to forthwith
prepare the necessary statements, notices, and
ballot issue material to assist the Flathead
County Election Administrator to have the
proposed Golf Course Lease submitted to the
electors as set forth herein.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE MAYOR OF THE CITY
OF KALISPELL THIS 7TH DAY OF JURY, 1997.

The City of Kalispell is seeking approval of the City electors of
a lease agreement between the City of Kalispell and the Kalispell
Golf Association whereby the Kalispell Golf Association would lease
the Kalispell Municipal Golf Course for a period of 20 years in
return for the City receiving a share of the gross revenue from the
operation of the course.
