P.J. Sorensen, Chairman
Kathy Nelson, Recording Secretary
GUESTS: Margaret Davis, Resident
HEAR THE PUBLIC: None.
PERFORMANCE BOND REMINDERS: None.
OLD BUSINESS:
Universal Mechanical — HVAC - 707 W Center St; Remodel/Change of Use. Sorensen will discuss
this with T. Jentz when he returns to decide how we will address this, since they had said they would
deal with some of their building code issues by mid -October. This will be on the agenda for next
week.
Northwest Drywall —1109 E Oregon St; new warehouse in the Rail Park at the south end. Sorensen
stated they plan to shift the building down to where it is over the property line where Porch owns one
half and FCEDA owns the other half. This needs to be under one ownership. There is a condition
on this that they will need to address the ownership as part of the Final Plat. We have not received
any updated plans. Tabler had heard that KLJ has signed the contract to design their civil work.
There are still some questions on the geo-tech because it is not standard for this location. This will
be on the agenda for next week.
Flathead Special Ed Co-op — 21 Meridian Ct; new school building. Nothing new has been
submitted on this project. This will be on the agenda for next week.
Maw — 25 Appleway on the south side; apartments. Two 4-plexes. Public Works has received
updated plans in response to their comments. There is a garbage collection area shown. Tabler
stated there will probably be another submittal after this second submittal. They have not addressed
the liability issues with the pond location. They are showing some building up of the site a little bit
and not showing how it is tying into the adjacent properties. This will be on the agenda for next
week.
World Gym — 555 East Swift Creek Way (no longer Diamond Peak); new athletic club. Public
Works is coordinating with them. Tabler stated they had gone through a site design with the west
area, with all the infrastructure design being approved. Now they want to take the pond they had
planned for that west property and utilize it for World Gym; kind of stripping it from the lot to the
west. The lot to the west will no longer be ready to be built on until storm sewer gets addressed
somehow. We are going through that process and waiting for the engineer to come back with a draft
letter or MOU on how this will work together ... if they will be swapping infrastructure between
the lots. The plans look good. We're just waiting for the letter. Nygren noted they will need to put
in street trees and landscaping. This will be on the agenda for next week.
Sunrift Brewery — 55 —1" Ave WN; Phase 2 — convert existing building to a restaurant. They will
be taking out their landscaping island to allow for more width in the parking lot. There will be other
areas that will have enough landscaping to meet their landscaping requirements. This will be on the
agenda for next week.
NEW BUSINESS: None.
PLANNING OFFICE ITEMS:
Turley - 749 W Center — change of use to auto restoration. This will be on the Planning Board for
November for a Conditional Use Permit. Any concerns should be submitted to Nygren. The
Landscape Boulevard and sidewalk are already there.
Parking District — the 700 block of 6th Avenue West has petitioned the City to be included in the
Parking District. There is 75% of the block face that wants to be included. Rademacher suggested
we approach the 600 block to also be included at the same time. There is only one house on the
street. This would go to Public Hearing and then Council would look at amending the Ordinance.
OTHER REPORTS:
Wal-Mart — Sorensen asked about their progress, and Tabler stated they are going through the
process. We are sending documents to them for review.
The meeting was adj ourned at 10 :12 a.m.
