.We are requesting at this time to be listed in the NPIA.S. we have reviewed FAR 151 and its
M. Duane Larson
levant subsections, and find the apparent prerequisite language to be in 151.3(b): "If within the Ward IV
forecast period, an airport will have a substantial aeronautical necessity, it may be included in the
National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems." Are we already considered applicants as a result
of work that has already taken place? If so, we would appreciate a written confirmation.
We feel that a current NPIAS rating would greatly help our efforts to obtain City, State, and
Federal funds as well as encouraging management of the Kalispell City Airport. Previous
discussions with Dave Gabbert, Lowell Johnson, and Fred Isaiah in Helena, Missoula and
Kalispell have led us to believe that a NPIAS listing was forthcoming.
