A Special Meeting of the City Council was held December 1'+, 1959, 7:30 P. M.
in accordance with the following notice.given and acknowledged:

CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA
Gentlemen:
There will be a special meeting of the City Council Monday, December
14th, 1959, at 7:30 P. M., for the following purposes:
FINAL ACCEPTANCE CONTRACT ON RESERVOIR COVERS
ACCEPT COMMITTEE REPORT ON LOADER BIDS
REMOVAL OF BLVDS. ON 3rd AVE. E. AND 5th ST.
We, the undersigned, being all of the members of the City Council, do
hereby waive notice of the date and purpose of the special meeti:lg of the City
Council to be held Monday, December 14, 1959, at 7:30 P. M., ane consent to the
transaction of any and all business to come before the Council as designated
above.

Moved by Huggins that contract with Gyrion Construction Company for reser-
voir covers be accepted as complete with exception of paintin7 the louvres for
which the sum of $202.50 be retained and the balance due in the sum of $5,421.15
be authorized for payment as per architects estimate. Seconded and carried.
Haddow presented report of Street and Alley Committee rccorra,icnding accept-
ance of bid of Miller Machinery Company on new power loader ^ $7,259.00, including
trade in. Haddow moved acceptance of report. Seconded by Fisher.
Metcalf moved motion be ammended to provide that an electric hour meter be
includeu with loader at original price. Motion seconded by Haddow.
On the motion to ammend all Councilmen voted for.- The ammended motion was
carried with a vote of 6 for and 2 passing.
City Engineer proposed widening of 3rd Ave. E. N. from Mon.Lana St. to R. R.
St. and on 3rd Ave. E. from R.R. to 3rd St. by removing boulevards on West side
of Avenue.
Moved by Horstman that this work be authorized starting at Montana Street
to R. R. and after the Engineer having cgntacted the property owners along 3rd
Ave. E. to proceed to 3rd St. providing a sufficient number of protests have not
been made against the work. However in that case it shall be rt,z:erred to the .
Street and Alley Committee for further determination. Motion seconded by Ryder
and carried.
Also proposed was removal of boulevards 4+A 'aod 5th St. from 1st Ave. East
to first alley east.
Moved by Huggins that Engineer contact property owners and if approved the
removal be authorized. Seconded and carried.
Moved by Huggins that proposed widening of 1st Ave. E. between Ind & 3rd Sts.
be referred to Street & Alley Committee. Seconded acid carried. Street and Alley
Chairman Haddow recommended change from angle to parallel parking on 2nd Ave..West
and continuation of- angle parking on lst Ave. W to 4th St. Sec. by Huggins & carried.
Moved by Huggins, seconded*by Ryder, that plans for new equipment 'shed at ware-
house be referred to -Street and Alley Committee. Motion carried.
Huggins Moved, for adjournment. Seconded and carried..
