Melanie Cross discussed allowing small projecting signs on Main Street, similar to what

under an awning. It is already included in the staff review of the zoning ordinance. They
can bring a text amendment if they want to petition.
Approval of Minutes: Janet moved to approve the August 12 minutes; John seconded.
Approved 7-0.
Old Business:
Super 8 Motel — 1341 1st Ave E — previously approved. They are switching from
hardiplank to vinyl. Using a little less rock. Removing the roof sign. Still an
improvement over the existing. Carol moved to approve; Russ seconded. Approved 7-0.
New Business:
West One Bank — 222 W Idaho — replacing the existing sign. New sign will be a bit to
the south. Wood supports will match the building. It will go in a landscaped area. The
readerboard is yellow. John moved to approve; Bill seconded. Carol moved for a friendly
amendment to add evergreen shrubs around the base of the sign. Approved as amended 7-
0.

is protected under First Amendment and our sign ordinance); Mountain Mudd landscaping
