Performance Bond Reminders: Johnson reported Appleway Apartments bond expires September 2Is'. He
said there are still issues regarding curb & gutter.
Castles noted that DEV Properties (Eastside Brick) has requested their bond be reduced however he said
Public Works is still waiting on an engineer certification for their bridge. Johnson said he discussed sidewalk
replacement with DEV and their may still be an issue with a power pole that needs to be moved. P.J. said
DEV Properties should submit a list of items that need to be completed with an estimate of cost then it can be
determined whether the bond can be reduced.
OLD BUSINESS: Elkins said there are a few building pen -nits waiting to be issued including MedNorth, the
DNRC Building and the Flathead Attention Home but they are waiting for information from Public Works.
He added nothing new has come in.
P.J. said he met with an architect working on the Hilton at Hutton Ranch Plaza and they talked about
pedestrian connectivity. He added what they came up with will work well.
P.J. said the Super 8 will be coming in for a penult to remodel their existing motel.
NEW BUSINESS: None
PLANNING OFFICE ITEMS: Conrad reported Davar Gardner has requested annexation for 80 —100 acres
on the east side of Highway 93, south of Lower Valley Road. Castles asked if this would include the auction
house property, which already is hooked to sewer and water and Conrad said it did.
OTHER REPORTS: There was discussion regarding the issue of street trees in clear vision triangles in
Stratford Village and the likelihood of trees having to be either trimmed or removed. Fincher said the decision
of tree removal will rest with the Public Works Department since some of the trees are planted over electrical
lines. Further discussion was held.
P.J. asked Fincher the status of the vendors license program and said he has asked Jennifer Young to work on
that program since it will affect the food vendors during the Picnic in the Park program. P.J. noted the
Planning Dept. was hopeful the program would be in place by the end of the year and Jentz added there are
sign issues that need to be addressed. There was further discussion regarding Island Noodles, at Depot Park
and the New York Dogs, at the county courthouse, who it seems has taken up permanent residence.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:25 a.m.
