AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SUPPRESSION OF THE LIQUOR TRAFFIC
AND PROVIDING THAT EVERY PERSON WHO, IN VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW
POSSESSES, SELLS, EXHANGES, GIVES, BARTERS, TRANSPORTS OR MANUFACT
URES INTOXICATING LIQUOR IN THE CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA, SHALL
BE GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Kalispell:
Section 1. Every person who, within the City of Kalispell,
Montana; contrary to the provisions of the constitution of the
United States or the enactments of Congress pursuant thereto,
possesses, sells, exchanges, gives, barters, transports or manu-
factures any intoxicating liquor shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
Section 2. This Ordinance is passed for the purpose of sup-
pressing the liquor traffic and providing for the punishment of
violations of the liquor traffic lams of the United States of
America.
Section 3. Any violation of this Ordinance shall be punish-
able by a fine in any sum not exceeding Three ndred Dollars or
by imprisonment not to exceed ninety days, or by both such fine
and imprisonment, provided that if the fine be not paid, the person
convicted shall 'be imprisoned in the City or County Jail until the
fine be satisfied at the rate of one day's imprisonment for every
$2.00 of such fine.
Section 4. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
thirty days after its passage and approval.
