MEETING: February 20, 2018
BACKGROUND: Bids for the Compact Excavator were opened on Tuesday, February 6, 2018.
The Compact Excavator will be added to the fleet to promote trenching and excavating
efficiencies and productivities. Four responsive bids were received.
The bid results are as follows:

Bid Schedule 1 includes the purchase of a new Compact Excavator. Bid Schedule 2 represents
the same purchase but includes the trade in of a 1985 John Deere Backhoe.
Staff has reviewed the bid submittals and determined they adequately meet the specifications
required in the bid package.
ACTION REQUESTED: At the City Council meeting, motion to award the bid for the
Compact Excavator to Northwest Parts and Equipment.
FISCAL EFFECTS: FY 17/18 Stormwater Fund, 5349-453-430249-940 and Sewer Fund,
5310-454-430630-940 include a total of $130,000 for the purchase of a Compact Excavator.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested and approved by the City Council.
