Bike/Ped Path Hwy 93 Invitation for BidINVITATION FOR BID Separate sealed bids for construction of Bike/PED Path HWY 93 — Kalispell - STPE 6799(32), UPN 7865 will be received by the Kalispell City Clerk until 2:30 PM, local time, Wednesday, July 24, 2013, for construction of the project described herein. All Bids that have been duly received will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in the City Hall First Floor Conference Room, 201 1st Avenue East, Kalispell, Montana 59901. Proposals shall be sealed and addressed to the Kalispell City Clerk, PO Box 1997, Kalispell, Montana, 59901, and entitled Bike/PED Path HWY 93 — Kalispell - STPE 6799(32), UPN 7865. The Project involves construction work associated with Bike/PED Path HWY 93 — Kalispell - STPE 6799(32), UPN 7865. The work to be performed generally consists of excavation, earthen borrow (embankment construction), placement of base gravel, construction of concrete pedestrian/bike path & sidewalk, concrete approaches and landings, minor drainage grading, storm pipe and culvert installation, signing and striping. All bids must be in accordance with the Contract Documents on file with the Parks & Recreation Department, 306 1st Avenue East, Kalispell, Montana, (406) 758-7715 and at the offices of Robert Peccia & Associates, 102 Cooperative Way, Suite 300, Kalispell, Montana; (406) 752- 5025 and 825 Custer Avenue, Helena Montana; (406) 447-5000. Copies of the Contract Documents for use in preparing bids may be obtained from Robert Peccia & Associates at the addresses stipulated above upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit of $75.00 for each set of documents including 11 "x 17" drawings. A pre -bid conference will be held, commencing at 9:00 AM at the Parks & Recreation Conference Room, 306 1st Avenue East, Kalispell, Montana 59901 on Thursday, July 11, 2013. Those interested in bidding the project should plan on attending this meeting. Work at the site is to commence within ten (10) days after the Notice to Proceed is issued. Completion of the work is required within fourteen (14) consecutive calendar days for the Base Bid, four (4) additional consecutive calendar days for Additive Alternate One and three (3) additional consecutive calendar days for Additive Alternate Two after the Notice to Proceed is given. The project includes liquidated damages that will be assessed as set forth in the Special Provision for Contractor Reimbursed Engineering Costs as defined in Supplementary Conditions, if the work is not complete within the allotted contract time. CONTRACTORS and any of the CONTRACTOR'S subcontractors doing work on this project will be required to obtain registration with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). Forms for registration are available from the Department of Labor and Industry, P.O. Box 8011, 1805 Prospect, Helena, MT 59604-8011. CONTRACTORS are not required to have registered with the DLI prior to bidding on this project, but must have registered prior to execution of the construction agreement. All laborers and mechanics employed by CONTRACTORS or subcontractors in performance of the construction work shall be paid wages at rates according to the current Federal Davis -Bacon Wage. The CONTRACTOR must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. Each bid must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond payable to the City of Kalispell, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. Successful BIDDER(S) shall furnish an approved Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each in the amount of one -hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount within seven (7) calendar days after the Notice of Award is issued. Insurance as required shall be provided by the successful BIDDER(S), and a certificate(s) of that insurance shall be provided. The City of Kalispell reserves the right to reject all proposals and bids received, to waive informalities, to postpone the award of the contract for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days, and to accept the lowest responsive and responsible bid that is in the best interest of the City of Kalispell.
