7. Unfinished Business:
Jarod attended the meeting to provide a downtown update. Based on parking study findings, Planning
would like to see us selling additional parking permits.
Bill wanted it documented that we have a shortage of long term parking for employees. He stated that the
Parking Study is incomplete because it does not address all day parking specifically.
Bill suggested that the city sell all city employee lots until the parking issues have been resolved. He
feels that the city would have a better understanding of the parking situation if it had a direct impact on
city employees the way it does on other downtown employees.
8. New Business:
Handicap parking within paid permit city lots was discussed. The Board agreed that people with a valid
handicap placard should be allowed to utilize the handicap spaces in the lots. The Eagles Lot would be
the exception. Handicap customers will still need to purchase a coupon to park in the lot. The meter at
the handicap spot in the Valley Bank will be removed. This will help make the space more accessible to
those in wheelchairs.
The next meeting will be Thursday, October 12.
