Approval of Minutes: Janet moved to approve the April 8 minutes; Mark seconded.
Approved 7-0.
Old Business:
Kidsports — both concession stands tabled from last meeting. Baker described the overall
layout/scheme. Metal roof — forest green. Sandstone hardiplank on soccer facility.
Asphalt shingles and CMU for Pee Wee. They have a plan for trees. John moved to
approve both; Bill seconded. Approved 7-0.
New Business:
Glacier Symphony — 720 S Main; revision to freestanding sign — Color match with
building. Seems a bit plain. Discussion regarding reversing color pattern. Sign face is
solid. Sign structure is leaning. Bill moved to approve conditioned on making the sign
true and plumb. Janet seconded. John moved to amend to include a recommendation to
reverse the colors. Motion to amend approved 7-0. Approved 7-0.
Grease Monkey — 2322 Hwy 93 N; new oil/lube facility; should wait on approval pending
Goldberg/DNRC approval. Concerns over garage doors facing highway. 200 ft view
corridor needs to be maintained. Turning the building might make it look worse. Add
trees? CMU trim around entries. White EIFS. Awnings? Discussion re: changes made
by Starbucks and McDonalds. They need to tone down the white, add evergreen trees
along the right-of-way to screen the doors, add awnings, add wainscoting, and improve
the north elevation (maybe false windows?) Carol moved to table. John seconded.
Approved 7-0.
Sizzler — 115 Hutton Ranch Rd.; new restaurant; needs 4 sided architecture. They should
try flipping the patio and garbage area. Discussed LED band on roof. Better to have
wood panel doors for the garbage screening. Looks good on 3 sides. Marls moved to
table; John seconded. Tabled 6-0. (Carol left during discussion; John left after vote)
Northern Lights Chiropractic — 1066 N Meridian; new chiropractic clinic; most of the
site is already developed as part of a common parking lot. Adding some landscaping
within the pad, including 2 trees. EIFS beige/stone base. 2 ft eaves (3 ft eaves better?).
front part of building jogs, hip roof. Carriage lamps (no clear glass). 6 ft front covered
entry. Discussion re: stone running down sides of building — N side is shielded; south side
could have a planter bed/evergreen shrubs. Russ moved to recommend extending
overhang to 3 ft and the planter bed. Mark seconded. Approved 5-0.
Other Discussion:
Glacier High School — landscaping. Corey recused himself, Mark served as acting chair.
Follow-up for landscape islands. Bill moved to approve; Janet seconded. Approved 4-0.
Entrance Corridor standards — Sean provided an overview
