Approval of Minutes: John moved to approve July 12 minutes; Janet seconded.
Approved 6-0.
New Business:
Moore Hearing — 10 3 Mile Dr.; new freestanding sign. Foam rock base, beige sign.
No actual samples. Bill moved to table; John seconded. Motion to table passed 5-0..
Blanchard Dental — 135 Commons Loop; new dental office. Kim showed the prior
elevation and material samples. Mark moved to approve; Bill seconded. Approved 5-0.
The Meadows — 4 Mile Drive; residential complex. Development from about 10-15
years ago. Part of it developed. New developer will generally be following plan with
some changes. Duplexes and 4-plex buildings. This review would cover both types of
buildings in the development. Substantially matching materials of what is there. Janet
moved to approve; Bill seconded. Approved 5-0.
Performance Real Estate — 1803 3rd Ave E; remodel. Re -clad exterior. Interior
renovations. Showed samples. Improvement from what's there. David moved to
approve; John seconded. Approved 5-0.
Scotty's — 2205 Hwy 93 S; new storage building. Applicant can't make it today.
Old Business:
Kalispell Oral Surgery — 180 Timberwolf Parkway; proposed revision to landscape
plan. Sod instead of wildflower mix. Substantially reduced count, but will work better in
beds. Parks supports change. Bill moved to approve; John seconded. Modification
approved 5-0.
Herbergers — 20 N Main; addition to existing mall. David recused. John — statement re:
comments from applicant at last meeting — we do treat everyone fairly, downtown is of
special concern. Discussed changes from prior drawings. More mass on west entry;
evergreens near the building. They showed samples. Downlights on the posts and
hanging flowers (alternate between the posts). John moved to approve with the addition
of dark brown on the band through the building; lighting and basket treatment to go
around the west side, and adding 3-4 evergreens spaced out on the north side. Bill
seconded. Approved 4-0.
Other Discussion:
Small change in size of awnings for Fuel Fitness to meet setbacks OK.
General discussion for ARC awards.
Discussed submittal requirements. Committee favors having a specific list of items as
requirements. Items are what we already ask for and recommend.
