SUBJECT: Bid Award for Used Asphalt Paver
MEETING: October 2, 2017
BACKGROUND: Bids for a Used Asphalt Paver were opened on Thursday, September 21, 2017. The
procurement scope included the purchase of one Used Asphalt Paver for the Streets Division. This is to replace
the City's current outdated asphalt paver. Bid packets were requested and delivered to three companies. One
company returned a completed bid packet.
Staff has reviewed the bid submittal and it adequately meets the specifications required by the City of Kalispell.
ACTION REQUESTED: Motion to award Western States Equipment the bid for a 2011 Caterpillar AP-655D
Used Asphalt Paver in the amount of $211,970.
FISCAL EFFECTS: The purchase of the used Asphalt Paver will be funded by the Special Street Maintenance
Fund, 2500-421-430240-940, Used Paver. A total of $240,000 was budgeted for the purchase of a Used Asphalt
Paver.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested and approved by the City Council.
