Re: Confirmation of Officer Brian Struble
Dear Mr. Russell,

Officer Brian Struble was hired September 1, 2016. A newly funded School Resource Officer
position at the Kalispell Middle School created the hiring opportunity.
Officer Struble is originally from New Jersey, where he grew up and graduated from high
school, he then went on to receive an Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.
Officer Struble worked as a Flathead County Detention Officer for 2 '/2 years and attended the
2008 Detention Officer Basic where he was awarded the Bill Westfall Award for academic
achievement. In December of 2009 Officer Struble was hired by the Kalispell Police
Department and attended the Montana Law Enforcement Basic Academy, where he won the Josh
Rutherford award for outstanding defensive tactics. Due to personal necessity Officer Struble
resigned from the KPD to take a job as a Helena Police Officer in December of 2012. Officer
Struble left the KPD in good standing in 2012, and the reviews of his service with the Helena
Police Department during the interim were outstanding. To our benefit, Officer Struble chose to
return to the Flathead Valley and pursue a position with the Kalispell Police Department.
Officer Struble has picked up where he had left off and completed a condensed Field Training
Program. Officer Struble brings vast experience, positive community relations and a high level
of dedication to our community as a representative of the Kalispell Police Department.
It is my recommendation that Officer Brian Struble be confirmed as a police officer with the
Kalispell Police Department.
Sincerely,
Rog asset
f Chief of Police
